Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to William Tobler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have William with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic has evolved over time, but I do contribute development of my work ethic and discipline from my time as a swimmer in high school. We had practice two times a day throughout the year, both before and after school. We had additional practices on the weekends and throughout the holidays.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a double-board certified Plastic Surgeon. I am grateful for the opportunity to help patients days in and day out. I often see patients at times of trouble, for example patients battling breast cancer, and can help them through their journey from diagnosis to recovery.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Perseverance, dedication, appreciation. Goal are hard to achieve, but if you are driven and dedicated you can achieve anything. Don’t give up and appreciate each stage of the journey you are on.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I have various outlets in my life that help me through these times. This includes spending time with my wife and kids, working out, playing golf, and painting. It’s okay to put things down when you get overwhelmed, take your mind off of things and refocus. Once your mind is clear then head back to whatever is challenging you.
