Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hasmik Vardanyan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hasmik, thank you so much for making time for us today. We’re excited to discuss a handful of topics with you, but perhaps the most important one is around decision making. The ability to make decisions is a key requirement for anyone who wants to make a difference and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your decision-making skills.
As both an attorney and entrepreneur, my decision-making skills were forged through a combination of legal training, business ownership, and real-world trial and error. Law school taught me how to analyze facts critically, assess risks, and anticipate consequences—skills that naturally carried over into running a business. But beyond that, growing a law firm required me to make fast, high-stakes decisions daily: hiring, client strategy, marketing, finances—all while maintaining the ethical and professional standards of the legal field.
Over time, I learned to balance instinct with data, trust my judgment, and stay focused on long-term goals even when short-term challenges arise. I also surround myself with mentors, smart team members, and systems that allow me to make informed decisions efficiently. Ultimately, decision-making is a muscle—one you strengthen by being willing to take responsibility, adapt quickly, and learn from every outcome. I do not dwell around every problem that I face. I identify the best resolution that I can do at that time and just execute it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Vardanyan Law Group LLC, is a leading law firm focusing on business immigration and personal injury.
As a first-generation immigrant, my journey resonates deeply with my clients, as I understand the challenges and hurdles many face in both the legal and business worlds. My experience as a former prosecutor lends additional understanding when it comes to working with victims and injured.
In addition to my role at Vardanyan Law Group, I am also the Co-Founder of Davari Jewelry, a luxury jewelry business that further reflects my entrepreneurial spirit and allows me to be creative.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience – As a first-generation immigrant and solo founder, I faced countless obstacles—personally, professionally, and financially. But each setback became a lesson. I learned not to internalize failure, but to treat it as part of the process. For those early in their journey, resilience isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you build by showing up every day, especially when it’s hard.
Strategic Thinking – Whether litigating complex cases or growing a law firm, I’ve learned the importance of seeing the big picture. Every decision—whether it’s a client strategy or a business investment—has ripple effects. My advice: always pause to ask why you’re doing something, who it serves, and what the long-term goal is. Think like a chess player, not a checkers player.
Relationship-Building – Both law and entrepreneurship are people-centered. Clients don’t just want legal advice—they want to feel seen and heard. Whether I’m in the courtroom, the office, or the showroom of Davari Jewelry, building trust is the foundation. If you’re just starting out, invest time in authentic connections. Your network will grow if you lead with integrity and consistency.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was sacrifice everything they knew and loved so I could chase the American Dream. They left behind their comfort, careers, and community to start over in a country where they didn’t speak the language—all so their children could have opportunities they never did.
