We recently connected with Azat Meirkhan and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Azat, so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.
I learned decision-making through experience, trial and error, and constantly analyzing what works. Early on, I focused on small SEO wins, but I realized real success comes from long-term strategy and patience. At Mayday Air, every decision—whether it’s optimizing our website, improving local search rankings, or adjusting ad spend—is based on data and customer behavior. Over time, I’ve learned to trust the numbers, but also to stay flexible because digital marketing is always changing. The key is to keep testing, learning, and improving.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
At Mayday Air, we specialize in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration services, helping homeowners and businesses in Orange County stay comfortable. As Head of SEO at Mayday Air, my job is to make sure people can find and trust us online when they need help. We focus on local SEO, paid ads, and great content so customers can easily book services and get reliable information. What makes us different is our fast, transparent service and focus on long-term solutions. As we grow, we’re improving our online presence even more, making it easier than ever for customers to connect with us.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Data-Driven Thinking – Making decisions based on real numbers helps avoid guesswork and improves results.
2. Customer Focus – SEO isn’t just about rankings; it’s about helping real people find what they need quickly and easily.
3. Adaptability – Digital marketing changes fast, so staying up to date and adjusting strategies is key.
Advice: Focus on value, pay attention to what works, and always be willing to adapt. Growth comes from consistency and learning from both wins and mistakes.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I’ve learned a lot from SEO experts, online communities, and hands-on experience, but working with my team at Mayday Air has been just as valuable. Seeing how customers search for and choose services has helped shape our strategy. I also keep learning from industry leaders and constant testing, because digital marketing never stays the same. But in the end, our customers teach us the most—listening to them helps us keep improving.
