Meet Tracie Branch

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tracie Branch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tracie, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I developed my self-confidence by learning how to grow with myself and most importantly, how to love myself through the growing pains. That process began with understanding that I was created by a God who makes no mistakes. If He created me uniquely and intentionally, then even in my uncertainty, brokenness, or imperfections, I am still made whole and perfect in His image.

What really shifted my mindset was realizing that, yes, there may be 50 other beauty brands or 50 other people named Tracie—but there is only one me. There is only one Chocolate Cosmetics. Embracing that truth gave me the freedom to walk confidently in who I am and in what God has placed in me.

I also started praying to see myself the way God sees me. That has been everything. It taught me that I’m forever evolving and that’s okay. I’ll always be learning myself in new seasons, but I can trust that my Creator doesn’t make mistakes. So even in the growing, even in the stretching, I’m not a mistake.

I love this question because confidence isn’t a one-time destination it’s a lifelong journey. We’re always building it, always learning, and the key is giving yourself grace and loving who you are right now, even as God continues to shape you.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Hi, my name is Tracie Branch. I’m a 32-year-old Dallas native, a proud mom to my beautiful 5yr old daughter, Nova Body, and the founder of Chocolate Cosmetics. I started this business shortly after becoming a new mom right in the middle of navigating motherhood, identity, and purpose. At the time, I felt a deep need to create something meaningful something I could build not just for myself, but to pass down to my daughter.

Chocolate Cosmetics began as a natural lip gloss line, and every product I offer is handmade from scratch using organic oils that heal, nourish, and enhance what’s already there. I’ve always believed that beauty doesn’t need to be created it just needs to be celebrated. That’s the heart behind my brand: to highlight the beauty that already exists in every woman.

What makes Chocolate Cosmetics special is that it was built from the ground up by a mother, in faith, out of a season of desperation that turned into endurance. Over time, I realized that this business was never really mine to begin with it belongs to God. That changed everything for me. This isn’t just a beauty brand; it’s a faith-based movement created to remind women that they are seen, loved, and more than enough.

When people interact with Chocolate Cosmetics, I want them to feel encouraged, valued, and uplifted. I want every product and post to be a reminder that their beauty was never lacking just waiting to be embraced.

What I’m most excited about right now is expanding into new products and preparing to introduce Chocolate Cosmetics to new spaces and audiences. I have big faith for where God is taking this brand, and I believe it will go far beyond beauty it will be a movement that touches hearts.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

One of the most impactful things I’ve learned is the importance of staying in your lane. Just because someone else is doing something a certain way doesn’t mean it’s meant for you. You have to know what works for you what aligns with your vision and have the discipline to stick to that, even when it’s tempting to follow the crowd.

Second, you have to be willing to do it scared. So many dreams stay buried because of fear…. fear of being too much, doing too much, or not being enough. But you grow when you move through that fear. My advice: do it afraid, but do it anyway.

Lastly, never forget your “why.” Always hold on to the vision God gave you, even as your business evolves. It’s okay to shift and pivot when needed but don’t lose yourself in the process. Stay anchored in who you are and why you started.

And if I’m being honest, I haven’t always been consistent in these areas more times than I’d like to admit. From experience, I’ve learned that as business owners, we can sometimes get in our own way especially when we take our eyes off of what God specifically called us to build. Comparison is a distraction. But clarity comes when you stay focused on your own assignment.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

What I’ve been learning is that sometimes the outcome God has for a thing looks completely different from what we had in mind. Maybe it’s not about the response at all maybe it’s about building endurance. Maybe it’s about continuing to show up, trusting that obedience matters more than applause.

I’ve also learned that burnout isn’t always about doing too much it can come from feeling like your effort isn’t being seen or valued. That’s why I’ve been trying to find new ways to fall in love with what I do. For me, that looks like reminding myself why I started, keeping the vision in front of me, and trusting that God’s hand is still on it even when the fruit isn’t visible yet.

This journey is bigger than right now. And I’m holding on to the truth that just because it doesn’t look like it’s working, doesn’t mean it’s not moving. God’s timing and purpose always go deeper than what we can see.
