Meet Tosin Aribisala

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tosin Aribisala. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tosin below.

Tosin , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience is birthed from a place of purpose, knowing that I am in the right path for my purpose and destiny. This realization fuels my actions to bear it all, hold the bull by the horn and channel my energy in fulfilling my purpose as a performing artist. Also, knowing that some folks out there get inspired by what I do gives me some resilience against all odds.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a performing artist. As a songwriter and a recording artist, sharing my compositions with the world is what brings me joy. So far, I have released 4 albums with several singles. The latest single is titled “The Big Illusion”, featuring Arturo O’Farrell & the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Steadfastness: being consistent pays in the sense that it makes people to easily identity you with a brand or in something that you are committed to. This allows for you to be recommendable.

Flexibility: It is OK to bend rules sometimes depending on factors that present themselves for every opportunity/situation. Business management is not a black-and-white sensibility.

Constant Growth: There will be challenges along the way: new technology, new audience, new territory, and economic shift. These changes require learning new ways to navigate the roads. The unprepared will wither, while the prepared will stand firm.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
The idea of partnering with other folks within your industry or outside of it is part of making progress and spreading beyond what you could ever achieve alone. I look forward to working with collaborating with other creatives, not just in music, but in other art forms that captures our dynamic existence.
