Meet Madelyn Harris

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Madelyn Harris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Madelyn, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I do what I do because people should feel like the main character on their wedding day. Because everyone deserves to feel beautiful and important. I’m an advocate for everyone, a photographer for everyone.

Photographers forget that we go to tons of weddings but the people we work with only have their one wedding and it is so important to make sure they feel at peace, they feel important and heard and they are able to do whatever they want on their day.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an elopement and wedding photographer located in the PNW and UT, I bought my first camera when I was 15 and just never stopped. I have always been a hopeless romantic and just love all love, I started as a portrait photographer then just fell in love with love and the rest is history. I’m someone who focuses not just on photos but on making ART, you deserve to feel like your photos belong in a museum. Not only your hype women but someone who can help take the stress away, someone to take on the little things so you can just focus on YOU and make sure you have the most amazing experience.

Not just another photographer, but an advocate for YOU.

obsessed with pine trees, fog, rainy weather, twilight, fantasy, art, love and reminding you how beautiful you are.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Investing in my business! Learning how others run their business, doing free sessions to learn posing and how I want to work with people and learning my camera and software (adobe)! Those are all the biggest came changers I’ve had. The things I would suggest beginners to prioritize!

How would you describe your ideal client?

someone who trusts me, someone who does what THEY want on their day. I am an advocate to do whatever you want to do on your wedding day because I’ve seen so many people look back at their wedding and hate it due to doing what everyone else wanted them to do. My ideal client isn’t a specific clientele, I love working with all kinds of personalities! I’m big on respecting everyone and respecting our earth and communities, as long as you respect me and others you are my ideal clientele
