Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mahesh Kondiparthi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mahesh, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive through persistence and incremental progress toward my goals.
Generating fresh concepts for short films and Cinematic Live Performances can be challenging, but I’ve learned that creativity thrives on discipline and consistency. Each day, I dedicate a few hours to brainstorming ideas and an additional hour at the gym refining choreography and movement. Over time, I began associating every source of information—experiences, observations, and inspirations—to my acts, allowing ideas to develop organically. While some days feel directionless, sticking to this routine has helped me shape compelling stories with choreography that truly resonates.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My mission is to entertain the world with visual storytelling
As a performance artist and filmmaker, I aim to create visually spectacular stories that resonate deeply with audiences. The process of translating a vague idea into a well-crafted film, centered around human emotions, is a journey I truly enjoy.
What sets my live entertainment apart is my creation of Cinematic Live, a blend of live theater and cinema. Imagine a live-action movie unfolding before your eyes, where a Live Performer interacts with characters played on a giant video wall. Pre-recorded scenes, featuring characters also played by me, come to life, and I seamlessly blend dance, martial arts, storytelling, and special effects to create a truly immersive experience. The video wall doesn’t just play the movie; it reacts to my live performance, creating incredible illusions and visual transformations – it’s like I’m stepping into the screen. Cinematic live blend in the spontaneity of live performance and the precision of pre-recorded content.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three key qualities have had the most impact on my journey:
1. Persistence & Adaptability
I initially set out to make it big in the film industry, then shifted to YouTube, and now, I’m pioneering cinematic live performances—blending live artistry with the precision of filmmaking. Every pivot required resilience and a willingness to evolve. At first, I relied on duplicating others’ dialogues, but my work truly gained recognition when I started creating original content. The shift from imitation to innovation was a turning point, helping me develop a unique artistic voice.
Advice: Embrace change. Your journey may take unexpected turns, but each shift brings new opportunities. Keep pushing forward, refine your craft, and remain open to reinvention.
2. Dream Big & Believe in Yourself
Your willpower has the ability to shape your future. If you settle for mediocre dreams, that’s all you’ll achieve. The world is filled with voices telling you what you can’t do, but not many, if any will tell you what you can accomplish. It’s up to you to believe in yourself and prove them wrong.
Advice: Set audacious goals. Block out negativity and surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you. The biggest breakthroughs happen when you dare to think beyond limitations.
3. Avoid Dependencies
My journey into cinematic live performances stemmed from my experience making short films in 2019. Initially, I cast friends, but I faced numerous challenges—some lacked patience for retakes and dubbing, others weren’t strong actors, and a few, despite their talent, had scheduling conflicts or expected compensation. These dependencies slowed down my creative process, so I began portraying multiple roles myself. This not only avoided dependencies but also gave me an opportunity to enact in different roles.
Advice: Rely on yourself as much as possible, especially in the early stages. While collaboration is valuable, don’t let external dependencies become roadblocks. If you can learn a skill yourself, do it—it will give you creative control and the freedom to execute your vision without delays.
