We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Riley-Newby recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I have been in alot of bad situations and some seemed as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel. So I found that converting my mind into survival mode helps me to stay positive, and hold on to my hope and faith. The other thing that allows me to be optimistic is consistently reminding myself that whatever I’m going through someone else has went through it and won. This too shall pass because trouble doesn’t last forever this is just a season and a new season will come a better season.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Ashley Riley-Newby is a wife, mom to 2 and a serial entrepreneur based out of Jacksonville Florida. She attended and graduated from Public School where she found at a young age her passion in problem solving , and mathematics. She went on to pursue a career in financial accounting where she worked as a financial accountant, aviation accountant, And tax accountant leading her to open her own tax preparation firm. After a lengthy engagement a Spontaneous Elopement wedding gave her the vision to launch Why Knot Weddings & Elopement. Her profit & passion has allowed her the opportunity to open various other businesses leading her to have multiple streams of income and providing jobs to various friends and family members. She has launched various nonprofits and enjoys partnering within the community to educate and enlighten the youth and those in need. When she isn’t working she is able to network meeting new people, discovering new places, and be exposed to exclusive things.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1.Just Start no matter where you are ,no matter how scared you are, no matter how much you don’t know. Start where you are and build from there.
2. Be consistent plans don’t fail to work people fail to work their plans. You must start and not stop. Keep working
3. Trouble will come it’s almost certain but it won’t last and you must stay optimistic and remain faithful while you’re going through it to get to the other side.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
My biggest issue I’m currently facing is staff I have several business and each of them require different personal that can be trusted to execute my vision. So we can consistently win and elevate.
