Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charonda Boswell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Charonda , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mother. I was raised in a single-parent home, and from a young age, I watched her carry the weight of the world on her shoulders without ever complaining. She worked long hours, yet still found time to be present, supportive, and loving. Her resilience, determination, and ability to keep moving forward—no matter how hard things got—left a lasting impression on me. She taught me that success doesn’t come from talent alone, but from showing up every day, putting in the effort, and staying consistent even when no one is watching. Her example laid the foundation for how I approach everything in my life and career—with dedication, integrity, and the belief that hard work always pays off.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of a growing medical spa that specializes in aesthetic treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, weight loss management, vitamin shots, and IV hydration therapy. What excites me most about this work is the transformation—not just the physical changes, but the confidence and joy our clients feel when they leave our space. Beauty and wellness go hand in hand, and I’m passionate about creating a welcoming environment where people feel empowered to look and feel their best.
What sets my brand apart is the personalized care and education we offer. I want every client to feel informed, heard, and never rushed. We’re not just providing services—we’re building relationships and helping people prioritize themselves again.
I’m also thrilled to share that we’ve recently moved into a new location, which has allowed us to expand our services and elevate the overall client experience. It’s an exciting new chapter, and I’m grateful for the growth, the community support, and the opportunity to continue doing what I love.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My time working in the Emergency Room and Post-Operative Care Unit taught me how to thrive in high-stress situations, make quick, informed decisions, and care for people with empathy and precision. These skills have been invaluable in the aesthetic industry. Clients trust me with their appearance and well-being, and that trust is something I take seriously. The ability to remain calm, adapt to each person’s unique needs, and communicate clearly and kindly has set the tone for my practice.
For those early in their journey, I’d say: focus on being a sponge. Learn from every experience, even the hard ones. Build emotional endurance—it will carry you through the toughest days. Stay adaptable, because growth often comes when you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone. And above all, never lose your compassion. Whether you’re working with patients, clients, or colleagues, the way you make people feel is what they’ll remember most.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been expanding my knowledge in the aesthetic industry and stepping confidently into my own space. After working under the guidance of a mentor who played a pivotal role in my early journey, I made the decision to branch out and launch my own medical spa. That leap required me to not only deepen my clinical knowledge, but also develop as a business owner—learning everything from operations and marketing to client retention and brand development.
I’ve invested heavily in advanced training, staying up-to-date on the latest techniques, safety protocols, and products so I can offer the best to my clients. At the same time, I’ve grown as a leader—building systems, creating a welcoming environment, and setting a standard of care that reflects my values.
This past year has stretched me in the best ways. It’s shown me what I’m capable of and reminded me that growth often happens when you step outside of your comfort zone.
