Meet Kevin Wolfrom

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kevin Wolfrom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kevin , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

This is a concept that Im still working on but has been a huge hurdle I’ve had to overcome in the recent years. Ive always dealt with low confidence and low self esteem where its drastically affected my relationships and friendships. I never had the courage or bravery to face that issue and fully address it. Through these past few years, it’s been a very intentional journey. I became very frustrated and tired of dealing with my low self esteem that i decided that i need a change. And that decision is the most important part of developing confidence and self esteem. Acquiring that awareness that something needs to change, allowed me to see things from a different perspective and allowed me shift my mindset to a more prosperous one. I stayed very consistent on this mental work. Daily affirmations and actually completing the tasks I set out to complete helped build my confidence because I started to gain self trust. By building self trust, it shifted my mindset into a more worthy and deserving mindset. Which in the end has helped me tremendously.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Well, my name is Kevin Wolfrom and Im a painter and muralist and I’ve been doing this for about 3 years now. Drawing from a very young age and then attending art school for 5 years. Ive always been leading a life in the creative lane and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Even all o the downs that has come along the way, it’s been a hell of a journey. This past year, I officially opened my own art business that focuses on murals and creating client relationships. Im still a part time artist and part time bartender but the plan is to eventually become and a full time artist. with more occupations entering the chat at a later date. What’s most exciting about out this career choice is that I get to create the entirety of it. It allows me the freedom i need to be my most authentic self. Ive always felt this unease when I’m working for a larger cooperation or working toward someone else’s dream. I needed to pursue my own thing and allow that to help others pursue their dreams.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

My first piece of advice would be t push work out constantly. Just keep working on your craft and create art that feels true to you. I feel like a lot of young artist are concerned about not having their own style and they think about it way too much where it actually stunts the creation of that authentic style. Just allowing things to naturally be made and following that intuition. Another skills I would recommend is learn how to draw very well first. When I learned how to draw with graphite first, I was able to apply those methods to the multiple other mediums I ventured into.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Learning how to re-wire my brain and the way I think. I learned I was conditioned to think a certain way and behave a certain way but once I became aware of my conditioned behavior, I knew I could learn new ways of thinking which would change how I feel, and change how I behave and then change my external environment in the best way possible. It’s helped me overcome many mental obstacles and gaining my confidence back.
