We recently connected with Aurelien Scagnolari and have shared our conversation below.
Aurelien, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Honestly, my creativity doesn’t come from books or podcasts.
It comes from spending hours every week with founders and CEOs who are building, scaling, and sometimes exiting game-changing companies. I’ve worked closely with a founder who sold for $50M+, another who exited at $600M, a CEO running an $80M/year operation, and execs from billion-dollar media companies.
These aren’t case studies—they’re my clients.
I study their markets, ask sharp questions, dig into their wins, losses, frameworks, and doubts. And then I help turn those raw, unfiltered insights into content that builds real trust and moves people to action.
That’s where the creativity comes from.
From proximity to brilliance. From deep conversations. From pressure-testing ideas every week. One founder at a time.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I run CURAT-D, a boutique personal branding agency for founders and CEOs.
We don’t do fluff. We help serious operators turn their story, experience, and thinking into content that drives revenue—through trust, not tricks.
Most of my clients run multi-7 or 8-figure businesses. Some are building tech. Others are scaling agencies. A few have exited for tens or hundreds of millions. What they have in common: they’re sharp, busy, and don’t want to play the content game just to go viral. They want to be seen by the right people—for the right reasons.
What makes CURAT-D special is the way we work. We go deep. Weekly 1:1 calls. Industry research. Strategic positioning. And then we execute—posts, outreach, videos, visibility plays. All aligned with one goal: growth with reputation.
No hype. No filler. Just high-leverage content, built to last.
Right now, we’re keeping the agency intentionally small. I’m not interested in scaling to 100 clients. I care more about staying close to the work—because that’s what makes it good.
We’re currently onboarding a few new clients for Q3. If you’re a founder who wants to be seen—and trusted—by the right people, now’s a good time to connect.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For me, the three most impactful qualities have been curiosity, resilience, and work ethic.
Curiosity kept me asking better questions. Whether I was 15 building my first brand or now interviewing 8-figure founders every week, I’ve always wanted to understand why things work—not just copy them. That mindset has opened more doors than any degree ever could.
Resilience helped me stick around long enough to get good. I’ve had months with zero new business. I’ve lost clients I thought I’d keep for years. But I always kept showing up, kept building, kept improving. You only lose when you quit.
And work ethic? That’s the foundation. There’s no hack for outworking someone who’s consistent. Most people stop at 80%. I go to 100—and then look again to see what I missed.
If you’re early in your journey, don’t over-optimize. Just focus on showing up, staying curious, and doing the reps. You’ll surprise yourself with how far that alone can take you.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who gets it.
They’re not chasing virality or follower counts. They care about building real trust with the right people. They know their reputation matters—and that content isn’t about noise, it’s about positioning.
Usually, they’re founders or CEOs running serious businesses. They’re sharp, they’ve done the hard work, and now they want their brand to reflect the caliber of what they’ve built. They don’t need hand-holding, but they do want a partner who thinks strategically, asks the right questions, and executes at a high level.
If you’re someone who values depth over fluff—and wants content that actually drives business—then we’ll get along just fine.
