Meet Jes Adam

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jes Adam. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jes below.

Hi Jes, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Honestly? I don’t think I ever had a big “aha” moment where the clouds parted and a booming voice said, this is your purpose. It’s been more like a breadcrumb trail—just following the things that felt right, that made sense, that made a difference.

I’ve always had this pull to help people. And not in a vague, “change the world” kind of way—but in a real way. Like: you’re overwhelmed by your business? Let’s fix that. Your website is a mess? I’ll clean it up. You don’t know what to say in your marketing? Let’s figure it out together. I like being useful. I like being the person people can call and say, “Hey, I don’t know what to do,” and I can say, “I got you.”

I’m a lifelong entrepreneur. I’ve run several of my own businesses. I’ve worn all the hats. I’ve felt that crushing pressure of having to do everything yourself. And because of that, I think I approach my work now with a lot of empathy. I know how much it means to have someone in your corner—not just doing the work, but really getting it.

So maybe my purpose is still evolving. But I know it lives somewhere in that space where I can step in, make something better, and leave someone feeling more confident than when they started. That’s the stuff that lights me up. That’s the work that feels like purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Jes Adam Marketing & Consulting started kind of accidentally—like a lot of things I end up loving. I was just helping people at first. They’d say, “Hey, you’re good with words… can you look at this?” or “I need a website, but I don’t even know where to start.” And eventually, it turned into a business built around exactly that—helping people figure stuff out and look good doing it.

I work with small businesses, non-profits, creatives, service providers—all people doing great work who just need someone to help them pull it all together. Branding, websites, social media, marketing strategy… I step in where they feel stuck or overwhelmed, and I bring a little clarity, a little calm, and a plan that actually makes sense.

I’m not flashy. I’m not going to throw buzzwords at you. But I am going to care deeply about your business. I’m going to ask the right questions, fix the things you’ve been avoiding, and make sure you feel proud to send people to your website or scroll through your feed. I help best when I know everything about your operations.

If I had to sum it up, I’d say my brand is about making marketing feel less gross, more human—and helping good people do better business.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being curious (and not pretending to know everything).
I ask a lot of questions—sometimes because I want to learn something, and sometimes because I want you to learn something while talking it through. I think curiosity has saved me more times than I can count. It’s the difference between feeling stuck and saying, “What if we tried it this way instead?” My advice: don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know something. That’s where the good stuff starts.

Knowing how to communicate clearly.
I’m not just talking about writing or public speaking—I mean the kind of communication that cuts through the noise and gets to the heart of what someone’s really trying to say. That skill has helped me with branding, marketing, client relationships, everything. If you can say something in a way that feels honest and easy to understand, people will trust you. Practice saying less, but meaning more.

Caring. Like, really caring.
I know that sounds simple, but I’ve built my business on being the person who actually gives a damn. When you genuinely care about people—their business, their goals, their stress levels—they feel it. And it builds trust, loyalty, and momentum. If you’re early in your journey, make that your starting point. Care more than expected. It pays off in every way that matters.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes—always. But I’ll be honest, I’m not just looking to collect business cards or slap logos next to each other for the sake of it. I love partnering with people who care deeply about what they do, who value creativity, clarity, and connection, and who aren’t afraid to think differently.

That might be a fellow creative, a local business owner, a nonprofit leader, or someone launching something brand new who needs a marketing mind in their corner. If we vibe, and if the goal is to do something good—I’m in.

If you’re reading this and think we might work well together, I’d love to hear from you. The best way to get in touch is through my website: jesadam.com. Let’s connect and see what we can build.
