We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Koree L. Thatcher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Koree L. below.
Hi Koree L., we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Confidence and self-esteem… that’s a journey, isn’t it? For me, a significant part of that journey was embracing my individuality, even when it felt challenging. As a beauty industry professional, I discovered a powerful source of confidence in my vibrant red hair. At the time, it was an unpopular color, out of my comfort zone, and no one looked like me. I share the journey of this personal story in my book, The HeART of the Matter: How to Fall in Love with Your Own Masterpiece (available on Amazon), illustrating how embracing our unique style, qualities and differences, even when challenging, cultivates self-confidence. Healthy self-esteem, I’ve learned, demands self-reflection: honestly confronting yourself and the issue. This is a practice I prioritize. Recognizing confidence as an ongoing journey, not a destination, I am committed to intentionally developing my best self.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My work is multi-faceted, which fulfills purpose for me. I’m a Stylist, Practitioner, Coach, and Author. At the core, I help people connect with their authentic selves, whether that’s through a physical transformation in the salon, a deeper understanding of their inner selves and overall health and wellbeing through coaching, or the insights shared in my writing, like The HeART of the Matter.
What I enjoy most is witnessing that breakthrough moment when someone sees their own potential and beauty, both inside and out. It’s a developmental experience, and I’m thankful to be a part of their journey.
Specifically, I am a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner dedicated to empowering menopausal women by bridging the gap between their hair, health, and hormones. With my expertise as an Advanced Licensed Cosmetologist, I hold additional certifications as a Trichologist, a Practitioner of Art Therapy, a PsychoHAIRapist – a mental health advocate – and as a Holistic Peri/Menopause Health Coach.
As the owner of THATCHER LYNN Salon & Wellness, the first menopause-friendly hair salon in the Cincinnati area, my passion is helping women in midlife regain their confidence and find balance while navigating this transitional stage of life. Recently, I introduced a new service, Nutritional & Mineral Therapy Consultation, which features a comprehensive Holistic Health Assessment and Hair Mineral Analysis. This specialized service thoroughly examines hormone-related concerns, such as hair loss, vitamin deficiencies and toxic overload, providing the foundation for a personalized wellness treatment plan designed to achieve optimal health and balance. I recently launched my first webinar, ‘Managing Midlife & Menopause,’ where we discussed the truth about menopause, common myths, and practical tips for navigating each phase of menopause.
Currently, I’m focusing on expanding my coaching practice, offering workshops that integrate hair, health, hormones, and personal development to restore confidence impacted by menopause. I’m also developing an online community to support and empower individuals on their journey of rediscovering themselves through life’s shifts. And of course, I am available for styling and practitioner appointments. I also plan on releasing a new journal in the next 6 months to support the work in my book, The HeART of the Matter. My mission is to empower individuals to embrace their unique stories and cultivate lasting self-esteem.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Boldness, Confidence and Discipline have been three most influential factors in shaping my journey as a Stylist, Practitioner, Coach and Author. With 28 years of experience as a business owner, I’ve navigated the constant ebbs and flows that make the journey both challenging and rewarding. I’ve learned that staying committed to the process of becoming the best version of yourself is essential for growth and lasting success. Ultimately, personal growth is always the most important, because your business will never outgrow your self-image.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m developing a network of Holistic Health Practitioners to partner with and serve as a resource for my clients to foster a community of hope. My vision is to provide a space where clients feel safe, heard and confident. If you are interested in collaborating and becoming a valuable resource for my clients, please send inquiries to koree@thatcherlynnsalon.com.
