Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Linda Lygdback & Sahar Whitley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Linda Lygdback &, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Our optimism comes from life experience. It’s like the law of attraction. The energy you send out is what you get back. It comes from our mix of personality, experiences and the way we approach life. We had a crazy idea and just dove in with enthusiasm. We’re not afraid to create, build, and put things out into the world. Instead of seeing it as an obstacle (starting this new business) we see it as an opportunity.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
We’re two moms who met as neighbors three years ago and quickly became best friends, more like sisters. Together, we built a brand that blends humor, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Our website is dedicated to crafting witty, relatable quotes about life, parenting, friendships, and the chaos in between because we believe laughter is the best way to connect. Beyond just words, we bring our humor to life through merchandise that feels high-quality, wearable, and effortlessly fun.
What makes it special is that it’s truly us. Our real conversations, our inside jokes, and our shared experiences. Everything we create is a reflection of our friendship and the way we navigate life with a little bit of sarcasm and a lot of heart.
The most exciting part is seeing our words resonate with people. When someone messages us saying, “This quote is so me!” or they proudly wear our designs, it reminds us why we started. We also love that we get to build this brand together. It’s never just work, it’s an extension of our friendship and the things we genuinely enjoy doing, from designing new drops to hosting poolside brainstorming, margarita sessions.
We’re always thinking ahead! Right now, we’re expanding our brand in exciting ways. We’re growing Threads of Two, our apparel line, with new collections that keep our signature wit and minimalistic, high-quality style. We’re also launching TOT, our athletic apparel branch, because let’s be real—comfy, stylish activewear is a must! And on top of that, we’re kicking off a new venture, Haus of Sundry, our Amazon Storefront, where we’ll curate and share our favorite finds.
The goal is to keep evolving, keep having fun, and keep building something that makes people smile.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in our journey were the following: 1. Creativity & Authenticity. From day one, we stayed true to our sense of humor and storytelling. We didn’t try to fit into a mold. We created what felt real to us, and that’s what made people connect with our brand.
2. Adaptability & Willingness to Learn. We had to learn everything from design to e-commerce to marketing. Instead of waiting until we “knew it all,” we just dove in, learned as we went, and adjusted along the way.
3. Resilience & Consistency. Building a brand isn’t overnight success; it’s showing up every day, even when things are slow, even when we’re figuring it out. We kept going, refining, and growing, and that consistency has paid off.
We would tell those who are early in their journey;
• Start before you feel ready. You’ll never have all the answers, but momentum is everything.
• Stay true to your voice. Trends come and go, but people connect with authenticity.
• Be open to learning. Every challenge is a chance to grow. Embrace the process.
• Keep showing up. Success comes from persistence, not perfection.
Most importantly, enjoy the journey! If you’re having fun, it’ll show in everything you create! Plus its more fun if you do it with your bestie!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
It would be fun to team up with lifestyle influencers and brands that align with our humor, aesthetic, and entrepreneurial spirit. Like-minded content creators like funny & relatable moms. Creators like Kristina Kuzmic, Sara Blakely, Tinx, Cat & Nat and Celeste Barber. They share hilarious takes on motherhood and everyday life just like us. Other fun unexpected partnerships with any coffee or wine brands would be pretty awesome too! Because what pairs better with mom humor than caffeine or a glass of wine? A collab with Unsweet Wine or a cool coffee brand could be gold.
