We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Peyton Moss. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Peyton below.

Peyton, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My parents 100%! Both my mom and dad owned their own businesses when I was growing up, and they instilled the value of a dollar and hard work into all of their kids. When I was in middle school I wanted to go do all the fun stuff my friends were doing, but I knew I had to spend my money to go do whatever it was. At the time the only way I ever got money was my birthday or Christmas, so I started mowing my neighbors yard once a week. I know without these two amazing people in my life, I would not be where I am today if it was not for them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

We want everyone to feel welcome and invited by the bright and positive energy surrounding Sunshine Events. We take pride in making every event an equal priority, we want our guests to feel comfortable and at peace knowing the professionals have it covered.
Something that makes us different from others, is our coordinating services start as soon as you book! Meaning, we are not just popping in 30 days beforehand and hoping all is well. We want to have a hold on things before they slip through the cracks and fix anything before it happens. So whether you are 18 months out or 2 weeks away we will be there throughout the process, to ensure peace of mind.
All of our packages are tailored to you, so what that means is, you start with a base (which is all of the bare necessities you need for coordinating) and add the services you want! Our most commonly added services are Vendor Sourcing and Price Point Management, these two services go hand in hand but can also be added individually as well.
Vendor Sourcing. Includes our preferred vendor pricing, we are doing all the shopping for you and then presenting you with the best options that fit your style/ price range/ preference. Because our preferred vendors love working with our couples they do offer special freebies, prices and/ or discounts to our Sunshine couples.
Price Point Management, is us breaking down the entire overall budget you plan on spending. This includes everything from food, venue, and photography to alterations, shoes and favors. We want to make sure that 1.) our budget is realistic for the number of guests but 2.) that we are not over spending in areas we shouldn’t be. The couples that purchase these two services and use the vendors we selected for them, on average save over 15% of their total price point.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I am so glad I started when I did. As humans we tend to put it off and put it off, but if this is something you’re passionate about?
-Don’t put it off, do it.
-If you can prevent it, don’t go into debt for it.
-find people in the same industry with like minded goals. Who have conquered the big challenges lean on them and see if y’all could help build each other!

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

Someone who knows what they want but understands they need a professional to help bring that vision to life. Someone who is open minded and willing to see alternative solutions, whether that be for a floor plan design, table cloth color or even the food served. Being flexible to new ideas is how you will get through all the planning details with ease.
