We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alessia Di Cecco. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alessia below.
Alessia, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
When I think about resilience, I don’t have to look far — it’s in my DNA. My resilience comes from my parents. Both Italian immigrants who came to this country when they were young, they had to start from scratch. No safety net, no clear path — just grit, determination, and a belief that life could be better if they were willing to fight for it.
They faced discrimination, doubt, and countless voices telling them they couldn’t succeed. But they never listened. They worked hard, built lives and careers they were proud of, and set an example for me that has shaped who I am. Watching them succeed against the odds taught me that “no” isn’t the end of a story — it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.
From them, I learned to never give up, to dream big, and to surround myself with the kind of people who lift you higher. Family and close friends — the ones who believe in you even when you’re struggling — are the greatest assets you can have on this journey. Resilience, to me, means honoring their legacy by showing up, staying strong, and pushing forward — no matter what.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At the heart of everything I do is a deep passion for building — building connections, building communities, and building stories that matter. Professionally, I’m focused on creating work that blends strategy with soul. I wear a few hats — creative, entrepreneur, collaborator — but the common thread is always people. I help others find clarity, voice, and vision, whether that’s through brand storytelling, creative consulting, or launching new ventures.
What excites me most is seeing ideas come to life — especially when they start as just a spark and grow into something that makes an impact. I love working with people who are driven by purpose, who want to leave the world better than they found it. That kind of energy is contagious, and it keeps me inspired every day.
Right now, I’m expanding into new territory, bringing more collaborative energy into my work — building out offerings that help individuals and small businesses tell their stories more powerfully and authentically. There are some exciting projects in the pipeline, from creative workshops to branded storytelling experiences that I can’t wait to share.
More than anything, I want people to know that what I create isn’t just about aesthetics or strategy — it’s about connection. My work is rooted in the belief that when people are seen, heard, and understood, incredible things happen. That’s the core of my brand, and it’s what drives me forward.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking Back: The Three Most Impactful Qualities in My Journey
When I look back on my journey, three qualities have consistently shaped my path: resilience, curiosity, and relationship-building.
1. Resilience – Life doesn’t move in a straight line. There have been plenty of setbacks, doubts, and curveballs, but resilience is what carried me through. It’s not about never falling — it’s about getting back up every time, learning from the fall, and moving forward with more clarity and strength. My advice to anyone just starting out: don’t be afraid to fail. Get comfortable with discomfort, and trust that each challenge is shaping you into someone stronger and wiser.
2. Curiosity – I’ve always been deeply curious — about people, ideas, cultures, and how things work. That curiosity has pushed me to keep learning, to ask better questions, and to stay open to unexpected opportunities. In a world that’s constantly changing, curiosity is one of the most powerful tools you can have. To grow it, make space for exploration — read, travel, listen, and surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking.
3. Relationship-Building – No matter how talented or driven you are, you can’t do it alone. The ability to build authentic relationships — to truly connect, collaborate, and support others — has opened doors I never could have reached on my own. If you’re just starting out, invest in people. Show up, be generous with your time and energy, and nurture the connections that feel meaningful. Relationships are not transactional — they’re transformational.
The journey is long, but these three qualities have been my foundation. If you can lean into them, you’ll not only grow — you’ll thrive.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I bake! It’s my version of yoga, zen garden and meditation all in one.
There’s something about measuring ingredients, the rhythm of mixing, and the way a kitchen smells when something’s in the oven — it grounds me. Baking brings me back to center. It’s quiet, creative, and just methodical enough to calm a busy mind. It reminds me to slow down, to be present, and to take joy in simple things.
Plus, it’s a beautiful way to show love. Sharing what I’ve made with friends or family — that moment of connection over something warm and homemade — always fills my cup again. When the world feels chaotic, baking reminds me there’s still sweetness in it.
