Bendnasty, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

I’ve always felt that creativity doesn’t come from within me alone—it flows from external sources. Most of my ideas feel like they come from something beyond my own mind. To keep that inspiration alive, I stay open—both in heart and mind. I believe that openness is my driving force. Every new person I meet and experience I have evokes different emotions, and I channel those feelings directly into my music.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Bendnasty is a 22-year-old Los Angeles-based Progressive Trance and House artist whose electrifying soundscapes blend hypnotic rhythms and deep, driving beats. Born and raised in the heart of California’s music scene, Bendnasty draws inspiration from the city’s vibrant underground culture and the global electronic music movement. Known for his high-energy sets and innovative approach to production, he fuses psychedelic textures with house and techno’s driving grooves, creating an immersive experience that resonates with dance floors worldwide. With a passion for pushing boundaries, Bendnasty continues to evolve his sound, capturing the essence of many genres while introducing new, cutting-edge elements.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities have been instrumental in shaping my growth: consistency, passion, and focus. Each played a unique role, not just in what I’ve created, but in how I’ve evolved as an artist.

1. Consistency
Creation has become part of my daily routine. There are days when my ideas don’t develop the way I expect, and it’s difficult to keep going in that state of mind. These moments come in unpredictable waves. For anyone just starting out, know that this is a natural part of the creative process. My advice: use these phases to learn as much as you can—they’re often where the most growth happens.

2. Passion
This has arguably been the most vital driver of my development. Music is something I live and breathe; it takes priority in my life, whether I want it to or not. It guides me and offers light when I’m feeling low. If you’re beginning to pursue something you’re passionate about, trust those feelings—they’re more powerful than you might realize.

3. Focus
Focus can be difficult to maintain, especially when life is pulling you in different directions. It’s important to keep a clear vision of your goals and what steps you need to take to reach them. In my experience, surrounding yourself with people who understand and support the life you’re trying to build makes all the difference. With the right community behind you, dedicating yourself to your craft becomes much more sustainable.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

I’m currently battling the introvert in me. I’ve always been someone who mostly keeps to myself, and that tendency has only deepened over the last six years as I’ve spent more time in the studio. One way I’ve started to break out of that shell is by surrounding myself with people who share similar passions—at concerts, underground events, and playing more live shows myself. Through these spaces, I’ve begun to build a community of close friends I can collaborate with and share meaningful experiences.
