We recently connected with Michalla and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Michalla, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I didn’t — and I don’t believe I ever truly will. Imposter syndrome isn’t something we permanently defeat; it’s something we learn to navigate. It arises whenever we step into new or unfamiliar territory. That sense of not being good enough, the fear that we don’t know enough, or the worry that others will see right through us — it’s all part of growth.
But I’ve learned to reframe it. Imposter syndrome isn’t a stop sign; it’s a mirror. Our self-doubt reveals the stories we’re telling ourselves. Our fears point to areas where we can stretch and grow. The belief that we aren’t enough usually traces back to old wounds still asking for our attention.
Rather than trying to silence imposter syndrome, I’ve made it a teacher. It shows me where I’m hiding, and what I’m avoiding. And the only real way to move beyond it is to do the thing anyway. Action is the antidote. Progress — even the smallest step — builds confidence.
So no, I didn’t overcome imposter syndrome. I move with it. I grow because of it. And I use it to empower the motion forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Right now, I’m in a season of stability and soft expansion — growing my clientele, my team of contractors, and the dreams that have been patiently unfolding over time. I’m focused on completing my EMDR certification this year, as well as finishing my Shamanic and Druidic training, both of which deepen the spiritual and holistic roots of my work. I’m also on track to graduate from Harvard in Summer 2026 with my second master’s degree — my fifth college degree overall — a milestone that symbolizes my lifelong commitment to learning and transformation.
But this chapter isn’t just about credentials. It’s also about balance. I’m prioritizing travel, health, and time in nature — living the life I’ve studied so deeply. I’m investing in self-care, creativity, and embodied wisdom. I’m creating art in many forms and leaning into experiences that nourish the soul, not just the resume.
Professionally, I’m excited to be expanding my healing practice, The Healing Arts, by bringing on clinicians who offer powerful and diverse modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, trauma-informed yoga, and ecotherapy. Whether someone works with me or for me, I want their experience to feel expansive, inspired, and deeply human.
Another exciting development: I’ve completed a pilot episode for a show that advocates for lifestyle, wellbeing, and holistic health — and it’s now being pitched to networks. I’m actively manifesting a collaboration with an executive producer to bring this vision to a wider audience.
This year is about closing loops — completing what I’ve started — and building the solid foundation needed for the next bold step forward, whatever that may be.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me, the most impactful parts of my journey have come from embracing three core identities: the scholar, the creator, and the healer.
The scholar in me is endlessly curious — always seeking, studying, expanding. This part has led me to pursue multiple degrees, advanced trainings, and spiritual lineages. It’s not just about gathering knowledge — it’s about deepening understanding. For those early in their path, I encourage you to stay open and curious. Don’t just seek answers; ask better questions. Let your learning evolve with you.
The creator is the dreamer and the doer — the one who forms companies, brings visions to life, tries new things, and dares to be seen. Creativity has helped me take risks, explore ideas without needing perfection, and build something meaningful. My advice here? Take action. Even imperfect action is a signal to the universe that you’re serious. Try everything that calls to you. Make space to imagine boldly.
The healer in me holds the compassion, the empathy, and the desire to help others grow and transform. This part reminds me to lead with heart, to hold space for pain and possibility, and to show up as a mirror for others. If you’re just beginning, nurture your empathy — not just for others, but for yourself. Healing isn’t just what you offer others; it’s also how gently and honestly you relate to your own story.
Together, these three parts have shaped not only my career but my way of being. You don’t have to pick just one path. You’re allowed to be all of who you are — evolving, multidimensional, and beautifully whole.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Honestly — every single person I’ve ever met.
From those who raised me, to the friends who continue to support me, to the healers who hold space for my growth, and especially my clients — each has shaped me in meaningful ways. I’m especially grateful to the clients who, often unknowingly, reflect back areas where I can grow. Their grace in allowing me to be human, to make honest mistakes, and to evolve in real time has been a tremendous gift.
That said, I don’t believe we should seek out mistakes, nor do I think it’s our clients’ job to highlight our flaws. But when feedback or reflection arrives, I believe it’s our responsibility to meet it with openness rather than ego. Helpful criticism, nudges, and even discomfort are invitations to evolve — not just for ourselves, but so we can better serve others with integrity.
When we intentionally surround ourselves with people who bring value — truth-tellers, mentors, friends, teachers, and fellow travelers — we create a constant current of growth and learning. The key is setting our egos aside long enough to sail into that mindshift. That’s where transformation lives.
