Meet Ariel Dejesus

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ariel Dejesus a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ariel, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
Tattooing for Christ is exactly what it sounds like. Tattooing and doing what I love in exchange for donations for the homeless here in Fort Worth Texas instead of cash. People love tattoos and they love them even more when they don’t have to pay money for them but instead pay with toothbrushes, deodorant, socks etc. my name is Ariel Dejesus and I am a tattoo artist who owns a tattoo shop in Benbrook Texas. My generosity isn’t some thing. I just woke up with one day, but in fact, I do share a testimony falling in love with a homeless man, who was an addict, I learned him, and I fell in love with his heart. We are now married nine years now, and he is who open my eyes to serve a society that everyone overlooks daily.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Ariel Dejesus and I am a tattoo artist who owns a tattoo shop here in Benbrook Texas. I am well-known on TikTok for my blindfold tattoos. That is where I blindfold my client and tattoo whatever design that I please.… tick-tock definitely helped me blow up and now people all over the country is coming here to Benbrook Texas to receive a blindfold tattoo. What makes my shop unique is the bartering system that we provide. If you don’t have cash that’s OK but instead if you have water, hygiene, food, or toothbrushes, you can trade in exchange for a tattoo. And that is where tattooing for Christ comes in. I am happy to be able to use my God-given talent to be able to help the less fortunate and to spread the awareness of the homeless community here in Fort Worth Texas. I am excited that I can reach so many people using such a large platform with nearly 500,000 followers now God is good and has help me collect a crazy amount of donations in the past and I am excited for what the future holds

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities is marketing self marketing yourself to get your namebrand out there second would to be selfless when you stop worrying about why you want to blow up is it fame? Is it for money once you stop worrying about what you will gain and start being selfless you will see a change and you will organically grow. And lastly, and this is the most important keeping God first, putting God before anything and everything and he will not lead you wrong.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I would say my biggest challenge is how mean people can be on social media. I have been bullied more in this industry than I have ever been in school. I am tattooing for Christ not to please people on social media and tattoo Artist look at me as a threat, because I Tattoo for water and Roman noodles so of course my content is going to blow up. And because of that I get backlash and accused of crazy things because other tattoo artist don’t understand how their work is 10 times better than mine and yet people still don’t know who they are, because they do not know how to be selfless
