Meet Becca Boston

We were lucky to catch up with Becca Boston recently and have shared our conversation below.

Becca, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

For a long time, I searched for my purpose outside of myself. I believed it was tied to what I did rather than who I am. At one point, I thought my purpose was photography. I went to school for it, started my own business, and became an assistant manager at a studio. But when I moved across the country to start a new chapter, that path shifted. I began working in adult group homes, supported children with disabilities, earned my CNA certification, and spent five years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I embraced the role of caregiver, especially during the challenges of the pandemic.

Yet during that time, I began to question—was this truly my purpose, or just a placement on my journey? As I dove into deep personal growth and rediscovery, I asked my coach, Trent Shelton, a question that had been weighing on me: “How do you know what your purpose is?” His answer resonated deeply: “Purpose isn’t something you find. It’s who you are. Placement of your purpose is what you’re searching for.”

That moment changed everything. I realized I was born with purpose—I am purpose. Every job, every chapter, was a temporary placement guiding me toward where God ultimately wanted me to be.

Today, I stand as a two-time bestselling author and international speaker. I help others see that their strength lies in giving their pain a voice and receiving the help that is needed, while stay true to who they are. My mission is rooted in my motto: “Stay Strong. Stay You.” My purpose is my presence, my big heart, and I live by a one-person impact mentality—because if I can help even one person, I’ve lived my purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a speaker—recognized by LA Weekly as a Powerhouse Speaker—and a two-time bestselling author. My work is driven by personal experience: growing up with a learning disability, surviving domestic violence, and overcoming an addiction to self-harm. These challenges have shaped my voice and mission.

Most recently, I’ve been using that voice to support caregivers through my impactful presentation, Burn the Burnout. In it, I help both paid and unpaid caregivers shift their internal narratives, explore six essential aspects of self-care, and establish healthy boundaries. This message comes from a deeply personal place—I know what it’s like to give endlessly to others while forgetting how to care for yourself.

Caregivers are burning out at alarming rates, often putting themselves last. As a society, we must do better in caring for those who care for everyone else. Burn the Burnout challenges the myths around self-care. It’s not just about spa days, Starbucks runs, or #SelfCareSunday. Real self-care is often uncomfortable—it’s setting boundaries, saying no, doing the hard internal work. It’s not selfish; it’s necessary. It’s needed for your progression and protection.

I’m excited to share that I’m working behind the scenes to relaunch the Stay Strong. Stay You. Podcast! Fresh episodes will be coming soon and available on all major streaming platforms. Stay tuned—big things are on the way!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1 – Be a student in the classroom of life and let your pain be your teacher.

I speak from lived experience—that’s why I connect so deeply with those I speak to. I’ve turned my wounds into wisdom, and my pain into power. Pain, setbacks, and adversity—these are our number one common denominators. We all face them, even if the reasons aren’t clear in the moment. But here’s the truth: you can let your pain break you, or you can let it shape you. I encourage you to choose growth. Because someone out there is waiting for you to show up—not perfect, but real, resilient, and wiser for what you’ve been through.

2 – Remember: real growth doesn’t happen overnight.

We live in a microwave society—everyone wants quick results. Pop your goals in, hit 30 seconds, and expect success to be served instantly. But that’s not how real transformation works. We all start somewhere, and the choice is yours: will today be your day one, or will you keep saying one day? Start messy. Start unsure. Just start. Because every message worth sharing begins with a mess.

As you move forward, stay in your lane and trust your pace. Comparison is a thief—it steals joy, focus, and progress. I started messy, and to be honest, I’m still figuring it out. But that’s the beauty of the journey. You grow, you stumble, you learn. And that’s what makes it all worth it.

3 – Celebrate Yourself—Every Win Counts.
This is something I wish I had embraced sooner, but now it’s a core part of who I am. Celebrating yourself isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Especially in the tough seasons, when even the smallest step forward can feel monumental.

Struggling with depression and made it out of bed today? That’s a win—celebrate it. One day self-harm free? Huge victory. Posted something vulnerable on social media for the first time? That’s courage worth honoring.

Too often we wait for the “big” moments to cheer ourselves on, but the truth is: progress is made in the small, quiet steps. So no matter how big or small it seems—acknowledge it. Celebrate it. You’re showing up, and that matters more than you know.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
