Hi Micah, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

That’s a powerful and honest question—”Where do I find purpose?” Especially at the beginning of a creative journey like becoming a nail artist, it’s normal to feel unsure. As a new nail artist, finding purpose began with understanding why I chose this path. Maybe it’s the joy of transforming a simple set of nails into works of art, or the way my creativity brings confidence and happiness to others. Nail art is more than beauty—it’s connection, self-expression, and empowerment. With every design, I have the chance to make someone feel seen, unique, and cared for. My purpose doesn’t have to be grand or fixed right away; it can simply be to create, to grow, and to touch lives—one set at a time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As a new nail artist, I focus on creating custom press-on nail sets that capture each client’s unique personality and style. What I find most exciting about this work is the creative freedom it brings—not just for me as the designer, but for my clients who get to wear something truly tailored to them. Press-ons are a fun, reusable, and affordable way to enjoy salon-quality nails from the comfort of home, and I love making that experience accessible to everyone. My brand is rooted in self-expression, confidence, and individuality. Right now, I’m expanding my collection with themed and seasonal sets, continuously improving the customization process—like refining my sizing kits—and exploring opportunities for local pop-ups and online events to connect with the community. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share what’s next!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey as a nail artist have been patience, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. Patience was essential as I navigated the steep learning curve of using new tools and materials—it took time to get comfortable and build confidence. Perseverance kept me going through late nights and moments of self-doubt when my work didn’t feel “good enough.” And being open to learning allowed me to grow, whether through watching tutorials, practicing consistently, or asking for feedback. For those just starting out, my advice is to give yourself grace during the learning process, stay consistent even when progress feels slow, and never stop exploring new techniques—you don’t have to be perfect to begin, but you do have to begin to get better.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parent did for me was lead by example, showing me the true power of love, sacrifice, and resilience. Though my biological parents weren’t in my life, I was blessed to be raised by a remarkable woman named Monica. She gave up her own dreams, including going to college, to raise me as a single mom. Despite the challenges she faced, she never gave up and always taught me the value of perseverance and the deep importance of family. Her sacrifices weren’t easy, but they shaped me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time. It’s because of her selflessness and unwavering strength that I found the confidence to chase my own dreams and become the strong woman she taught me to be. I am forever grateful for everything she gave up to ensure I had the foundation to build my own life.
