Meet Maddison Kitt

We recently connected with Maddison Kitt and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Maddison, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

My purpose found me — somewhere between a childhood shaped by loss and a life built on connection.

My husband, Brandon, and I have been best friends since we were 13 and 15. We grew up through some heavy things — the kind of grief and instability that shifts your whole perspective. That kind of pain strips away the noise and makes you ask: What actually matters? It taught us how to truly live — not just survive, but to live with urgency, intention, and heart. Don’t wait. Follow your curiosities. Talk to strangers. Be seen. Be weird. Be wild. Be you.

For the last 12 years, we’ve been immersed in music festival culture — not just for the music, but for the human connection. Dancing under the stars, camping, meeting strangers who turn into family. After college, we hit the road and lived full-time in our RV. We worked seasonal jobs, traveled the country, and redefined what it meant to build a life on our own terms. That chapter taught us how to stay present, trust ourselves, and live with intention — even when the path wasn’t clear.

Eventually, we came back to Tulsa with a knowing: we didn’t want to spend our lives doing what we thought we “should” be doing. We knew what we should be doing — and that’s whatever brings us joy. Whatever helps us grow. Whatever feels real. And we wanted to create a space where other people could feel that too.

That’s how Haus of Kitt began. Not from a business plan, but from a need — for belonging, for creativity, for shared experience. We didn’t have funding or a roadmap, but we had a vision, a lot of grit, and an unshakable belief in the power of people coming together. Our events aren’t about escaping life — they’re about celebrating it.

We’re also deeply inspired by our parents, who remind us that joy doesn’t have an age limit. Enjoying life isn’t something we should grow out of. If anything, we should strive to become more connected, more curious, and have more fun as we age. Purpose doesn’t always look like a job title or a five-year plan — sometimes it looks like building something honest and weird and beautiful, just because your heart says yes.

Haus of Kitt is our love letter to that kind of aliveness. To the ones still figuring it out. To the ones who’ve been cracked open and kept going. Our purpose is to create spaces that remind people it’s okay to take up space. To grow into the most honest version of themselves. To connect deeply. To feel joy — and to share it.

Everyone deserves that. And for those ready to say yes to themselves — we’ll be here, building the world we want to live in, one dance floor, one conversation, one moment at a time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Haus of Kitt is an experiential production company– where we create immersive experiences designed to bring people together in meaningful, memorable ways. We’re based in Tulsa, but the energy we cultivate is universal — it’s creative, curious, and community-driven.

Our experiences blend music, visual art, and immersive installations, all woven together to feel more like a world you step into than an event you attend. Every detail is intentional — from the lighting, lounges, and layout to the lineup and vendors. But what makes it special isn’t just what you see — it’s what you feel. We care deeply about creating spaces where people feel free, inspired, and welcome just as they are.

People often tell us that it feels different — lighter, more expansive, more connective. That’s exactly the point. We want our events to feel like a deep breath, a release, a reminder that fun and meaning can exist in the same space.

So far, we’ve produced three festivals in our “BLVD” series — including Bloom on BLVD, which just wrapped in April and featured two stages, live art, and a silent disco experience indoors. This July, we’re expanding even further with our next BLVD event: three stages, including a new one dedicated to live bands, bridging Tulsa’s local music scene with our electronic roots.

We also offer renegade stage, lounges, and silent disco rentals for private events, pop-ups, and community activations — because we believe connection doesn’t have to happen at a massive scale to be meaningful.

Haus of Kitt is evolving fast — but the heart stays the same. We’re here to spark joy, amplify artists, and remind people how good it feels to be fully present and fully themselves.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Resourcefulness— When you don’t have a big budget, a big team, or a step-by-step plan, you learn to get scrappy real quick. We wear every hat — from event producers to marketers to install fabricators to building crew. Being resourceful taught us to figure it out even when we didn’t know how. If something broke, we fixed it. If we didn’t know where to start, we just started. My advice? Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Learn as you go. Ask questions. Use what you’ve got. And ask for help!

Emotional Intelligence— We’re in the business of creating experiences — and that means understanding people. Learning how to listen, how to communicate under pressure, how to work with different personalities, and how to keep your cool when things go sideways — those skills have been just as important as the logistical stuff. You don’t have to be perfect at it, but you do have to be self-aware and willing to grow. The more you understand yourself and how you relate to others, the better leader, collaborator, and community builder you’ll be. Pay attention to how you show up, stay open to feedback, and learn how to lead without your ego running the show. Stay curious. This work is personal.

Vision— Not just the ability to see what’s possible, but the courage to hold onto that vision when things get messy or slow. There have been moments where ticket sales were low, where things felt uncertain, where it would’ve been easier to shrink. But having a strong “why” — and revisiting it often — is what carried us through. And for us, that “why” has never been about money. If you’re in it just to profit, you’ll burn out fast. But if you’re in it to serve, to connect, to create something meaningful — the impact lasts. Protect your vision, and let it grow with you. And surround yourself with people who believe in it with you.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

They stayed.

Even through their own pain and stress — through unimaginable hardship and the beautiful chaos of raising my little brother and sister — my parents never stopped showing up for me. For us. They’ve experienced more loss than most people will in a lifetime. And somehow, even with their hands full and their hearts heavy, they’ve always made space for us too.

They’ve never told us to play it safe or be realistic. Instead, they leaned in. They opened their minds and hearts to the world Brandon and I have built — one rooted in connection, creativity, and living fully. They’ve started going to festivals, help design and create our decor, build installations, haul furniture, and hold us through every wild idea and emotional rollercoaster. They are crucial in everything we do at Haus of Kitt and play a massive role in it’s success. We talk every day. They are, without fail, a phone call away.

Through Haus of Kitt, they’ve grown alongside us. And at our last event, Bloom on BLVD, they disappeared for a while — and when we went looking, we found them in the tattoo shop on sight, getting matching disco ball tattoos with the Haus of Kitt logo colors on their left arms. A surprise tribute to everything we’ve built together. No announcement, no spotlight — just a deeply personal gesture that spoke louder than words ever could.

So Brandon and I got the same tattoos on our right arms — a full-circle moment, a symbol of everything we’ve built together. Two generations. Four people. One wild, beautiful journey.

That moment said everything. About love. About healing. About family not always looking like a straight line — but sometimes like a circle made of disco balls.
