Meet Jenny Corbett

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenny Corbett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jenny, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

Honestly, I didn’t at first. I hit a wall—mentally, emotionally, and creatively. That moment of burnout is what pushed me to reevaluate everything. I ended up quitting my 9–5 and finally gave myself permission to pursue the creative path I had always dreamed about. I’ve wanted to be an interior designer with my own company for as long as I can remember, but I never expected it to happen during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

What’s helped me avoid burnout since then is building a life and career that actually energizes me. Turns out it was in front of me all along. Working on our home, documenting our DIY projects, and sharing our story has been healing. I’ve learned to slow down, protect my creative energy, and remind myself that growth doesn’t have to mean running on empty.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Jenny Corbett, the creator behind Jenny Corbett and Co Interiors. What started as a traditional design business has evolved into something much more personal. Today, my husband—an architect by day and craftsman on the weekends—and I share the journey of renovating our 90s “blank canvas” home one DIY project at a time.

We document everything on social media with the goal of making great design feel approachable, affordable, and high-end. We don’t have a large budget, and we know that’s what makes our content relatable. I love helping people see their space or furniture in a new light—whether that means styling shelves, rethinking layouts, or finding the right pieces without overspending.

What excites me most is the connection it creates. I started this to help people who felt stuck when making design choices, people who wanted a beautiful home but didn’t know where to start or what to buy. And while I used to take on one-on-one clients, I realized I wanted to share my knowledge with a broader audience. I wanted to show the full process, not just send off a plan and never see the end result.

Now, I spend my time curating shoppable looks, sourcing budget finds, and sharing tutorials that help people feel confident designing their own homes. I believe home takes time, and that’s okay. Great design doesn’t have to be rushed or expensive.

Right now, I’m focused on growing our blog and digital platforms, expanding the “Shop the Look” section of our website, and sharing more seasonal styling tips so others can bring these ideas to life in their own spaces.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’m still early in my journey, so I really understand what it feels like to be figuring things out as you go. The most helpful skills so far have been staying organized, being open to change, and tuning out outside noise.

You might start with one goal and find yourself pulled in a different direction, and that’s okay. Let your path shift if it’s taking you somewhere better. Focus on building systems that keep you moving forward, and most importantly, trust your gut. You don’t have to please everyone. Just keep showing up and learning as you go.

My advice? Stay grounded, stay curious, and allow space for your story to unfold. You don’t have to have it all figured out right away.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always open to collaborating with brands, creators, or platforms that align with my mission of making great design feel approachable, personal, and inspiring.

I’m especially interested in working with home and lifestyle brands that value real-life stories, DIY projects, and accessible design. If you’re interested in collaborating or want to explore ideas together, please reach out! The best way to connect is through the contact form on my website at www.jennycorbettco.com or via Instagram @jennycorbettandco.
