Meet Dhaisy Vue

We recently connected with Dhaisy Vue and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dhaisy, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I believe my resilience came from my parents. They are one of the biggest contributors to my success. Both of my parents are refugees from Laos during the Vietnam War. They both came to the United States as young children. They experienced firsthand how difficult it was to build a successful life here and they still managed to give my siblings and I the amazing opportunities that they did not have themselves. My father was always very passionate about sports, I spent many weekends with my dad handing out flyers, setting up football fields, and score keeping basketball games to support his many sports leagues across Colorado. Watching him spending countless days and nights finding football fields, managing coaches/players, and on top of that— his dedication to the parents and players showed me how to handle business with love and empathy. My mother was resilient in different ways. She learned English when she got to America, got a full ride scholarship to a university, raised 4 kids, and took care of not only her children but the rest of her family. I was able to pull from both sides and used that to drive me in this industry.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Day to day, it may seem like I just do lashes and skincare but it is way more than that. My whole mission is to empower other young women to feel good. For me, it started on the outside. When I looked good, I felt good. And while that may not always be the case for everyone, I believe it is a good place to start. Being in the beauty industry for 5 years and 1 year in esthetics education, I now want to share my story and my journey to empower other women in their self love journey through aesthetics. I want to encourage other estheticians to spread more love and beauty into this world in a physical and mental way. I have just recently expanded my business. I have moved into a bigger space with 2 other estheticians and another that I am personally mentoring. I look forward to growing in my community and making the world a more beautiful place inside and out.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think being ambitious, determined, and empathetic helped me the most in my journey. This is definitely a self motivated career. You have to believe in yourself, you have to be willing to put the work in, and most importantly, you have to give yourself and others grace. It may feel like your dreams are so big that they are out of reach but once you tell yourself that you can do it, you’ve already done half of it. The other half is putting in the real ground work. Every move must be intentional and it must have purpose. You are the only person who can determine your fate in life, you get one chance so you have to put your all into everything you do and you have to do it with love.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am always looking for estheticians and other beauty professionals to collaborate with! I love being able to connect with like-minded individuals who are looking to progress in their career. I think it’s important to build a supportive community that you can learn from and grow with. I would most love to help mentor newer professionals that not only want to have a career but want to build an empire doing what they love. You can connect with me through Instagram or email if you are looking to grow your personal brand!
