We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Dennis Boseman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Dennis below.
Dr. Dennis , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I stay creative by staying connected to real life. Most of what I create comes from what I’ve lived through—good and bad. My kids, Dennis and Brooklyn, inspire a lot of it. Watching them grow, hearing how they think—even in the tough moments—keeps me grounded and open-minded.
Music plays a huge role too. Sometimes a single song hits a nerve and sparks something new. I also stay tuned into other artists—not to copy, but to stay sharp. People like Jamie Hickey, Antoine Davis, Mark Brettrager, and Matthew Taylor always push the envelope. Even newer artists like Seth Clark, Christine Toporcer, and Alex Vitus keep the energy fresh.
If I ever feel stuck, I lean on my bros. JB, David, Korbin, Foski, Dave, Ben and Rhino always comes through with solid advice and a laugh when I need it. That’s usually where the spark comes from. I don’t force it. I just stay present, let life happen, and let the creativity come through when it’s real.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I wear a few hats, but they’re all tied to the same mission—healing through creativity. I run Nobility Tattoo, a custom studio focused on intentional, high-quality work rooted in storytelling and connection. I’m also the founder of Tattoo Therapy™, which blends therapeutic techniques with tattooing to support emotional healing. That work grew into Tribal Temple, a nonprofit that recognizes tattooing as a sacred, cultural, and spiritual art form. Through that, we’ve launched a Pay It Forward Tattoo Program, where the community can donate to help fund free tattoo sessions for those in need—survivors, those healing from trauma, or people just trying to reclaim their story.
Outside of tattooing, I’m building Ironcrest Solutions, a consulting brand focused on helping creatives protect their work and scale their ideas. I also produce sync music under REPR.
Whatever I do is rooted in the belief that creativity saves lives—whether it’s on skin, in music, or in the community. The exciting part is that we’re growing. We’re expanding the Pay It Forward program, booking new events, working on merch drops, and continuing to build platforms to make a real impact.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three things that impacted my journey the most were: investing in myself, seeking mentorship, and keeping an open mind.
First, investing in yourself isn’t just about money—it’s about time, energy, and being willing to grow. Whether it’s learning a new skill, taking care of your health, or just getting your mind right, you are your first business.
Second, find mentors. People who’ve been through the fire already. You don’t have to copy them, but you should listen. I’ve gained more from conversations with people I respect than I ever could from trial and error alone.
And third, stay open-minded. Just because someone’s path is different doesn’t mean there’s nothing to learn. The moment you think you know everything, you stop evolving. If you stay teachable, you stay dangerous…in the best way!
How would you describe your ideal client?
In my opinion the best clients are the ones who come in with an open mind and a real reason for getting tattooed. I vibe most with people who aren’t just chasing trends, they’re trying to heal, celebrate a milestone, appreciate the art or explore themselves with Tattoo Therapy™.
You don’t need to have it all figured out, but if you’re patient, willing to trust the process, and open to the idea that tattooing can actually be part of your healing—that’s the kind of client I do my best work with. And yeah, high pain tolerance helps too.
