Meet Paige Danner

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paige Danner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paige below.

Paige, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem through modeling. It can either kill your self esteem and confidence or help build it. While there is a lot of rejection you have to stay confident and resilient. Getting through the no’s to the yes. I always loved doing runway shows and you have to be confident to sell the clothing. I always try to remember that anyone can have an opinion of you. Doesn’t make it true.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I left Montana at the age of 18 with just $500. I had planned to move to Nashville but my car broke down and I moved out of my mom and dad’s house early. This took almost all my savings making the trip to Nashville impossible. I always prided myself in doing what I say so I still left with only the $500.00. I rerouted to Arizona thinking I could sleep in my car if I needed to. I got a job and an apartment close by (in case I ran out of gas money and needed to walk to work) right away. I didn’t have any money left so I ate 3 day old pies from the restaurant I had gotten a job at. I also ate oranges off of trees that were overhanging the sidewalks. Making a living took over and I got another job too. Needing more money I took people’s advice and tried modeling. I was told I could be a plus size model. I couldn’t believe it and decided it wasn’t for me. haha Then I got sick and lost weight down to 127 lbs. I decided to try again and got signed right away as a body model. Shortly after that I was signed to a German modeling agency then Milan Italy. I travelled and lived in Europe for a few years. Still longing to sing I came back and made some good connections which helped me record a cd in Nashville. I realized, while in Nashville, that I really didn’t like humidity and didn’t want to live there. I started a band and sang locally around Scottsdale and Phoenix. I then joined a show called Nashville Gold and traveled around Arizona and California. I also had another show called Female Country Trailblazers. Currently, I sing locally in Scottsdale and Phoenix. I will be traveling with another amazing artist to Montana this summer and doing shows there.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I really believe that never giving up is important. Connections, timing and networking are everything. Surround yourself with great people and always keep your word. Reputation is important and always capitalize on what you have. Always move forward and learn from the past.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The book that most helpful for my career was The Aladdin Factor. It’s really about how there is always someone who will help you if you just ask. Be thankful for no as it gets you to the yes you desire.
