Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tim Orscheln. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tim, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Growing up in a small Midwest town, you learn about risk at an early age. Building a ramp with your friends and testing who had the courage to make the jump was a fundamental lesson; you either succeeded or you didn’t. Risk always presents two outcomes: success or failure. Both can either be a blessing or a curse, depending on your perspective.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I founded HomeLyfe with the vision of becoming Arizona’s most trusted equity maintenance company. My motivation stemmed from my frustration with contractors who constantly tried to sell unnecessary services, like a new roof or HVAC system. This led me to embark on a journey grounded in integrity. At heart, I am a businessman, but I was raised to prioritize people over profits. To be part of HomeLyfe, one must embrace this culture. Additionally, I initiated the HomeLyfe Partner program to collaborate with companies that share my values. Together, we strive to provide the best customer care.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Develop a strategy, embrace failure and innovate processes. Set clear goals (begin with the end in mind), acknowledge setbacks (learn from them and progress forward) and innovate (disrupt processes to foster growth).
How would you describe your ideal client?
Customers who value win-win scenarios appreciate your business and want to work with you.
