We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Neveen Albediwa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Neveen below.
Neveen , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Getting diagnosed with breast cancer was a wake-up call. It forced me to face the possibility that I might not have much time left, and that kind of fear makes everything in your life come into sharp focus. I started doing deep soul searching—and praying. I asked God to show me why I was still here. Through prayer, I started getting answers. I was reminded of what made me feel alive as a child: music and comedy. I used to love impersonating people, and my mom would light up every time I did it. She was my biggest fan.
She also got cancer and sadly passed away not long after my diagnosis. I had spent so much of my life in survival mode—trying to keep both of us alive—that I never had the chance to truly live. Losing her, and almost losing myself, forced me to start over. Everything became crystal clear. I laser-focused on what brings me joy, and in doing so, I found my purpose. It’s creating, performing, and using my voice to make people feel something—whether it’s laughter, healing, or hope.
If you’re searching for your purpose, start by asking what made you feel most alive before the world told you who to be. Then pray on it, trust the whispers that come back, and follow what lights you up. Purpose isn’t found all at once—it’s remembered, reignited, and lived out one brave choice at a time.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my story. I’m a breast cancer survivor, creative, and someone who’s passionate about living with intention and heart. Right now, I’m focused on helping build a small business called Breeze Med Spa, where I get to be part of a team that’s all about wellness, confidence, and care.
At the same time, I’m returning to one of my first loves — comedy. I’m part of an improv troupe from Dearing Studios and have been diving back into writing sketch comedy, creating characters, and doing impersonations. It’s something that lit me up as a kid, and it feels exciting — and a little scary — to finally be bringing it to life again as an adult.
Putting yourself out there creatively is always a little vulnerable, but life is short. I believe we’re here to do what we love and make the best of the time we’re given. That’s the energy I’m walking with right now.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, intuition, and creativity.
Resilience has carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life — from personal loss to major health challenges. It’s the ability to get back up, even when things feel impossible. And it’s not about being tough all the time — it’s about choosing to keep going with grace, even when you’re afraid or hurting.
Intuition has been my compass. There have been so many times I didn’t have the blueprint, but something in me just knew what direction to go — whether it was walking away from something that didn’t serve me or stepping into something new and scary. I always encourage people to slow down, listen to their gut, and build trust with themselves.
Creativity has been my lifeline — my way of processing, healing, and expressing truth. Whether through writing, comedy, fashion shoots or storytelling, creativity has given me a voice and a sense of freedom I’m so grateful for.
For anyone just starting out, my advice is: be patient with yourself, be willing to look inward, and be brave enough to start before you feel fully ready. Growth doesn’t come from waiting for the perfect moment — it comes from showing up, staying curious, and learning as you go.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely — I’m always open to collaborating, especially with people who love comedy and have a passion for acting on their toes. I’m currently writing and developing sketch comedy content, so I’d love to connect with fellow creatives who are great with improv, characters, and just bringing fun, bold energy to the screen.
If you’re someone who loves to play, create, and doesn’t mind getting a little silly for the sake of a great laugh — I’d love to hear from you!
