We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cat Flint. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cat below.
Cat, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my parents. Growing up in a small rural town in NY really shaped me into the person I am today. My mom started a non-profit in my town to help those in need. Every Thanksgiving we deliver over 500 meals to the community as well as Christmas gift giveaways. It’s moments like that that truly humble you and make you gracious for all that you have. I will always find ways to give back, no matter where I am!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m 26 years old from a small rural town in the southern tier of NY called Addison. I went to Nazareth University where I studied Musical Theatre. Graduating in 2021 made it super hard to become anything in NYC during a pandemic so, after coming on vacation to Nashville, I realized my love for country music never went away and I decided to make the big move 2 months later…best decision I’ve ever made! Becoming a singer-songwriter and meeting so many talented people in this town has been such a joy and I just can’t wait to keep making music. I just finished recording my debut EP so y’all can look for that coming out in the fall!! It’s quite the ode to my hometown, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think being humble, being kind, and staying true to yourself are my personal 3 mantras for life. Being humble keeps you grounded and keeps the peace. You can still be confident and competitive with a little compassion for others. That brings me to being kind…no matter who, no matter where, no matter what being kind to others is the absolute key to a happy life. Making someone feel good should make you feel good…and if it doesn’t then maybe some therapy would help? lol…but seriously, we are all going through different things in life whether that’s a new job, grief, breakups, releasing a new song….whatever that may be, it never hurts to be kind to every single human. And staying true to YOU will save you in every situation in your life, good or bad! No one knows you like you.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents are the most selfless, kind, giving, and caring people on this planet. I wouldn’t have been able to release any of my music without their support. They are truly my best friends and my rock. They taught me to be humble and kind and that will stand true forever.
