Meet Alexandra

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alexandra a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alexandra , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?

I remind myself why I started.
The results I create, the confidence I help restore, and the students I mentor — that’s my focus. Not everyone will understand your vision, and that’s okay. I don’t let opinions stop me from doing what I love and continuing to grow.

When you’re clear on your purpose, the noise around you gets quiet.
Let them talk — I’m too busy building, creating, and evolving.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Alexandra Saburkina, a permanent makeup artist, international trainer, and founder of Brow2Brow.pmu, now based in San Jose, California.

I’ve worked with over 2000 clients and students across Europe and the USA, and every procedure I do — whether it’s brows, lips, or eyeliner — is about enhancing natural beauty with care, precision, and safety. My work isn’t just cosmetic; it’s deeply personal. Many of my clients come to me after hair loss, scarring, or years of feeling self-conscious, and I get to witness that transformation and restored confidence. That’s what makes this work so special to me.

What sets my brand apart is a combination of technical skill, artistic eye, and an emphasis on healed results. I use mineral-hybrid pigments that age gracefully in the skin and create techniques designed to look soft, elegant, and timeless — never overdone.

Outside of working with clients, I’m proud to serve as a judge in international PMU competitions and continue sharing my knowledge through training programs. I recently began offering camouflage tattooing for scars and pigmentation — a meaningful addition that brings both visual and emotional healing to clients.

Right now, I’m also expanding my training offerings for both beginner and advanced artists. My goal is to help other professionals elevate their craft and feel empowered in this industry.

I always say: beauty fades, but skill, integrity, and intention stay with you — and that’s what my work is built on.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey were:

1. Precision & Attention to Detail
Permanent makeup is a craft where millimeters matter. Developing a strong eye for balance, symmetry, and subtle beauty is everything. I spent years studying facial structure, lighting, healed results, and skin behavior — and I’m still learning.
Advice: Slow down and master the fundamentals. Don’t rush into advanced techniques until you truly understand shape, skin, and healing.

2. Resilience & Confidence in Your Vision
In any creative field, especially PMU, you’ll face criticism, doubt, and comparison. I had to learn to stand behind my work, even before others saw the value in it.
Advice: Don’t let fear of judgment hold you back. Stay focused on your growth, stay humble, and trust that your results will speak louder than any opinion.

3. Commitment to Education & Growth
From working on clients to judging international competitions, one thing that helped me evolve was always being a student — asking questions, taking classes, watching how others work, and adapting.
Advice: Invest in quality education, surround yourself with mentors, and never assume you’ve “arrived.” The best artists are always evolving.

Success in this industry isn’t just about talent — it’s about discipline, heart, and consistency. If you stay grounded in your purpose and push through the hard days, you’ll create something truly lasting.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I’m always open to connecting and collaborating with passionate, like-minded individuals in the beauty and aesthetics space.

I’m especially interested in working with:

Beauty professionals and PMU artists who share a commitment to quality, artistry, and client care
Studios or med spas looking to offer high-end PMU services or invite guest artists/trainers
Photographers, videographers, and creatives who want to bring beauty and education to life through content
Brands or educators developing tools, pigments, or training materials that align with innovation and ethical standards
I believe collaboration is one of the most powerful ways to grow — whether it’s through teaching, creating content, hosting events, or cross-promoting our work.

If you’re reading this and feel aligned with my values and energy, I’d love to hear from you!
