We caught up with the brilliant and insightful CEO PESO a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
CEO, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a lot of different things. A lot of circumstances in my life, people have been around show me that quitting something that you believe in should never be an option. My life growing up was not bad at all, but it was not the best. There was a lot of people around me that set up for what life had to offer them, but they did not go see they could create their life to be. I feel blessed at a young age to see that I want it more, and I want my family to have more. That has always been a driving force to pursue my dreams. And now having an 11 year-old son, it’s even more important for me to show him to do what he believes. I am his biggest inspiration, and I can’t let him down.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I started her out and music management for local artists around me and being an engineer. I feel that is important to highlight because it showed me earlier on starting in 2006 of what it really takes to really work on a craft and to be an asset to those who need it. At a young age, I developed a mindset that I can achieve success doing something that is always needed. It taught me how to zone in on my talent and gifts to reach new levels. It also showed me that I can do more than just one thing, And chasing dreams will open up different opportunities to try to add to my resume. If it wasn’t for music I would not have never picked up a camera. Now my main focus is film, film, production, and documentaries. I love the fact that I can take an idea for one persons mind and put it onto a screen for them to watch and see their ideas come to reality. That’s the driving force that keeps me going as well. To be able to turn someone’s thoughts into something that can live on and be seen forever. I also have a podcast that is named 💫Dreamers welcome podcast. I try to showcase the talents of other people, but more so their story on how they chase their dreams to become a reality. Everyone has a dream, but we all have a different way to pursue it.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I will have the same one or three qualities that is needed is the belief in yourself. I realized with my journey it was not just people who can’t affect the way you want to pursue something that a lot of people think will be impossible. It’s also about not getting what you want when you want it, but learning how to be patient and trusting the process. you have to really understand that failures can be stepping stones to success if you learn how to analyze it. Another scale is to be consistent. When you do have self doubt or feel unmotivated, when you can go back and see the consistent work you put in Weather six months to two years, seeing how consistent you was can be the self motivation you need to keep moving. And last just never stopped learning. Always be a student to the game. I never act like I knew it all, and I always was a sponge to new information to learn. The biggest part is to not over consume, but add the information into whatever area it is you’re trying to be better at. And never stop learning.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The one main book that played a role in my development and everything I am now is a book called to think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill. That book was very inspiring and an eye-opener because I found it interesting that information that dates back to the 1950s and before still applies to the mind state to have today. There is one sentence in that book that changed it all for me. You are what you think. If you think you are unsuccessful, then you will be unsuccessful. If you think you are lazy, then you will be lazy. Whatever you feed your mind, no matter how bad the circumstances, you always have to feed your mind positive information and that will be embedded into your thoughts and make you better.
