Meet Allison Bray

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Allison Bray. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Allison, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I didn’t so much find my purpose as I followed what had always been quietly guiding me. Fashion and beauty have always pulled at me — not in a superficial way, but as a language. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of personal style, the way beauty rituals could become moments of self-definition. It was never about trends or aesthetics alone; it was about identity, confidence, transformation.

That pull never faded. It evolved, sharpened, and eventually became the foundation for the work I do now. Purpose, for me, was less of a discovery and more of a return — to what I always knew lit me up.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At its core, About Magazine is a curated space for women with a sharp eye and a point of view — a digital destination where real-life style meets aspirational fashion. As Founder and Chief Content Officer, I shape the editorial direction and creative voice of the brand, making sure every feature feels elevated, relevant, and rooted in taste.

What makes About special is its balance. We cover fine fashion and emerging designers, but we also celebrate the attainable — pieces that work in real life and still feel polished. There’s a place here for both the statement bag and the perfect white tee. It’s a platform with range and refinement — a taste for everyone.

Right now, we’re focused on expanding our lifestyle and fashion coverage, introducing more curated edits, and continuing to grow a community of women who value substance and style equally. It’s thoughtful, beautiful media — and we’re just getting started.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities for me were confidence, curiosity, and discipline.

Growing confidence in my own taste and opinions was a game changer. Early on, it’s easy to second-guess yourself or get pulled by every new trend or voice. Learning to trust my instincts—and stand by them—gave me clarity and creative freedom.

Curiosity kept me open to new ideas and perspectives, which helped my taste evolve authentically rather than follow the crowd. Discipline was the foundation: showing up consistently, honing skills, and pushing through challenges even when it felt uncertain.

For anyone starting out, my advice is simple: nurture your confidence by practicing your voice. Study what moves you and don’t be afraid to form opinions. Confidence grows through action and reflection, not overnight. Stay curious, keep learning, and be patient with the process.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, absolutely. I’m always eager to connect with upcoming fashion and beauty brands that bring something fresh and deserving of a spotlight. I’m particularly interested in creators who prioritize quality, authenticity, and thoughtful design — brands that have a clear point of view and a story worth telling.

If you’re building something unique and believe it aligns with the elevated yet approachable spirit of About Magazine, I’d love to hear from you. Please reach out via our website or direct message on Instagram to start the conversation.
