Meet Stephanie Hall

We recently connected with Stephanie Hall and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

As a black woman that has worked in the corporate I.T. field for 16 years, most of the time, I was the only one in the room that looked like me.

According to the Centre for Women and Information Technology, of the 25% of all women working in tech, only 3% of them are black women.

Due to the huge disparity within I.T., most women are overlooked for leadership roles.
Well, this was my personal challenge and experience.

But what led to my success in this industry was becoming my own leader.
While at first, it was very frustrating, I’ve come to appreciate it because it spoke volumes about my personal work ethic and drive.

I will always find a way to obtain the information I need in order to be successful in my position.
Whether it be through personal study or building rapport with the right people whom possessed said knowledge.

And I did it genuinely.

What has made me successful and effective, even when I’m the only one in the room that looks like me, was by BEING ME.

Being my true and authentic self.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My personal brand name consists of ONE NAME that embodies all of my other names and characteristics.

That brand name is iShine Period.

iShine Period is more than a brand. It’s a spirit. It’s the embodiment of all that is, all that ever was and all that ever will be. The true, authentic self. It is the embodiment of alignment, discipline and mastery of one self. It exudes the balance I’ve gained in my life.

iShine Period was a name that was divinely imparted onto me when I began my journey of healing and self discovery. It started back in 2020. By this time, I was getting fed up with dealing with the physical health issues, mental health issues and emotional pain and trauma I had endured all of my life.

Because I was still trying to forcefully control my life, one night, after having suffered with a depressive episode for at least 3 weeks, I made a last attempt at ending my life.

That attempt was unsuccessful.
This was my 3rd attempt in the past 7-8 years.
This was my LAST attempt.

That night, I had the most remarkable spiritual encounter.
And after having the best night of sleep that I’ve had in years, that next day, I embarked on a journey into one of the greatest chapters of my life, healing and self discovery.

Since then, I’ve healed all of my physical health issues, stabilized and healed my mental health, and taken huge deep dives into healing my past emotional pain and trauma.

I’ve also created 5 to 6 more brands that each describe a different aspect of part of me.

iShine Period is the embodiment of the creator that lives and dwells inside of me.
The light of the creator that bursts out, exudes and shines within me and outside of me.

And just like our creator, that possess many qualities, has many tasks, many jobs, many responsibilities and many names…so do I.

Because I was never created to be mediocre.
I was created and called to be someone great!

Now, I want to teach others how to obtain this for themselves.
To not only obtain healing and self mastery, but to create a brand (or multiple brands) that come from self purpose, to serve a purpose to others, whether it be through a product or service.

I’ve created a personal and powerful masterclass titled, “You Are Your Brand”, which shares my journey of healing and self discovery, and how I’ve created multiple personal and meaningful brands meant to share with the world.

This masterclass will teach someone how to align their purpose with their platform.

This masterclass will began soon, so be sure to keep checking my website for details and dates.

I hope to see you there!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My three most important qualities, skills or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, endurance and becoming a master student.

While resilience and endurance are both important aspects of overcoming challenges, they differ in their focus and approach.

According to their definitions, resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficult situations and adapt to change, often involving a process of recovery and learning.

Endurance, on the other hand, is the ability to withstand hardship or adversity for an extended period, often characterized by persistence and pushing through.

These were both great qualities that I possessed during my journey.
I still hold on to them now because I am still on this journey, I’m just coming into yet another new chapter of my life.

I have since converted them into great skills that I have mastered that keep me going because I understand and know that there is greatness on the other side. And while I have achieved a level of greatness within myself already, I desire to achieve higher levels of greatness because I know it dwells inside of me.

And last but not least, was learning to become a master student.
On my journey, I studied and researched everything that came to mind.
I researched herbs, vitamins and supplements that I replaced my past medications with.
I studied diet and exercise, which led me to eat according to my blood type and do the type of exercises that are best for my body.

I studied many topics that explained the root of emotional and mental health issues which led to my healing.

And I continue to allow myself to learn to ultimately master my craft, which is true alignment and mastery of myself.

I was created to be different.
I am unlike any other.
Hence, I had to study myself too.

And to become the master teacher, one must learn to become the master student.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The only one who has been the most helpful in helping me to overcome challenges and build and develop these essential skills, qualities and knowledge that I’ve need to be successful is the true and living Most High God.

I literally don’t know where I would be without God right now.
I may have still been in that same stuck, stagnant, broken place and space that I was in.
I may have still been dwelling on my past and constantly worried about my future.
I may not have even been here.

But I’m still here.
And I’m here, because God has shown me that I have a true mission and purpose in this life.
That I wasn’t meant just to live, but I was meant to exist.
