Meet Kalene Hoffmann

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kalene Hoffmann. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kalene below.

Kalene, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity stems from a deep belief that business is always better when built on teamwork and community. I genuinely believe that when you do good, you get good in return. Giving back and uplifting others not only creates stronger connections—it also fuels my own confidence and joy. Supporting those around me isn’t just something I value; it’s what drives me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I fell in love with fitness in my early 20s when moving my body and nourishing it properly with food completely transformed my life. It gave me a level of confidence I had never experienced before—and I knew I wanted to share that feeling with others.

Now in my 40s, my passion has evolved. I’ve found a deep appreciation for Pilates, which is gentle on the joints yet delivers the same incredible results I used to get from high-intensity workouts and heavy lifting. What I love most is that Pilates is truly for everyone—no matter your age or fitness level which is why I wanted to bring the Bodybar Pilates brand to cities in the mid-west.

At Bodybar Pilates, our classes range from high intensity to lower-impact formats, all designed to build strength and improve mobility. Our classes deliver not just aesthetic results, but also long-term benefits like better balance, flexibility, joint health, strength, cardio vascular endurance and overall longevity.

It’s more than a workout—it’s a way to feel strong, confident, and empowered at every stage of life. Come try your first class free!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three Most Important Qualities that have helped me along my journey are:
1. Resilience – I’ve learned that success doesn’t come without setbacks. My ability to keep going, adapt, and continuously learn—especially during challenging seasons—has been the foundation of my growth. I don’t give up; I get better.

2. Community – Building strong relationships with my team, members, and fellow entrepreneurs has been key. I believe business is better when we lift each other up, and I’ve always led with generosity, collaboration, and connection.
Strategy

3. Vision is powerful, but strategy brings it to life. From launching new businesses to optimizing operations, my ability to think ahead, pivot smartly, and execute with clarity has made all the difference.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my mom did for me—though it didn’t feel like it at the time—was tell me not to go into business for myself. She thought it was too risky and was convinced I would fail. Hearing that from someone I loved and respected was hard—but it also lit a fire in me.

I felt a deep, undeniable pull toward entrepreneurship, and her doubt pushed me to prove not just to her, but to myself, that I could do it. That moment forced me to dig in, learn everything I could about business, and commit fully to making it work. Today, she’s my biggest supporter, and I know that initial challenge shaped the relentless drive and work ethic I carry with me now.
