We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyree Dones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tyree, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem over time through a mix of self-awareness, being realistic, and setting goals. Early on, I realized I had to stop waiting for others to validate me and start validating myself. I began setting small goals—whether in school, work, or personal life—and every time I achieved one, it built a layer of confidence. I also try to surrounded myself around people I can learn from, I also had to learn to silence the inner critic that used to hold me back, and realize that I’m literally one of one. Confidence isn’t something I was born with—it’s something I built, step by step.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Tyree Dones—a real estate agent, entrepreneur, and content creator who’s all about helping people find home, both in real estate and in real life. Yes, I help clients buy and sell property, but my brand is much bigger than that. I try to create content that blends real estate education with real life—vlogs, behind-the-scenes moments, personal memories, and day-in-the-life stories that shows a different side of the hustle.
What’s most exciting for me is being able to show up fully—both as a professional and as a person. Whether I’m handing over keys to a first-time buyer or taking my audience through my own wins, lessons, or just a regular day, it’s all connected. People relate to realness, and I bring that to everything I do.
Lately, I’ve been expanding my content to go deeper into lifestyle and storytelling. I want my community to see that success isn’t just about business—it’s also about mental health, growth, family, and celebrating life’s small wins. From real estate tips to raw vlogs and throwback moments, I want people to see the full picture.
At the end of the day, my brand is about connection. I want folks to feel educated, inspired, and seen. Whether you’re buying a home, building a dream, or just trying to figure it all out—I’m right there with you, sharing my journey and rooting for yours.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
When I reflect on my journey, the three things that really shaped my growth were discipline, self-awareness, and authenticity. There were many days when I didn’t feel motivated, but I stuck with it anyway. Staying committed to my goals, even when the results weren’t immediate, is what moved the needle for me. Whether in real estate or content creation, it’s about playing the long game—showing up consistently, doing the work, and trusting the process. I would say Don’t wait to feel “ready.” Start now and build habits that keep you grounded. Momentum comes from motion.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
An ideal client would be ALL OF THEM. Either way if they’re looking to BUY, SALE, OR LEASE. They’ll ideally for me!
