Meet Jackie Lozano

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jackie Lozano a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jackie , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity really stems from my faith , God has touched my heart deeply, especially through hard seasons of life. I’ve been through things that have tested me, but instead of making me bitter, they’ve grown my heart and made me softer towards others. I’ve learned that you never really know what someone is carrying , so I try to lead with empathy and kindness. I naturally put others before myself , not because I have to but because I genuinely care. For me generosity isn’t just about giving something physical – its about making people feel seen, valued and loved especially when the world doesn’t always do that for them. That naturally spills over my business as a makeup artist. I treat every appointment with love and intentionality.I don’t just want my clients to look beautiful I want them to feel beautiful , seen , and genuinely cared for.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a makeup artist based here in San Antonio , and I specialize in event glam- everything from weddings , quinceaneras and any special occasion you name it! I love being part of those big meaningful moments in someones life. What makes this work so special to me is not just about makeup – its the confidence , transformation and making someone feel like the most radiant version of themselves. It’s such a powerful feeling to know I can play a small part in someones special day and help them carry that confidence with them.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back the three biggest things that shaped my journey have been passion, confidence and patience. Passion is where it all started for me. I genuinely love what I do. Passion gave me the drive to keep going, even on the hard days or when things feel slow. Confidence didn’t come overnight . but its been so important . It helped me take on new clients and push past fear. And patience had taught me to trust the process. It is easy to compare yourself to others, but everyones timeline is different . I have to remind myself to stay patient , stay focused and to not rush what God is still working on in me.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents – especially my mom did for me was sacrifice everything to give me and my sister a better life. She went through so much behind the scenes just so we could have the things she never had. My mom is a single mom, and even when life was incredibly hard for her she never let it stop her from showing up for us.
Her strength , her sacrifices and her constant support have shaped everything I am today. She always believed in me and reminded me that I could accomplish anything I set my heart on. Knowing how much she gave up so that we could chase our dreams makes me want to work even harder – not just for myself , but to honor everything she’s done. That unconditional support and love- that has been the most powerful gift in my life.
