Meet Arlene Pace Green, Ph.D.

We recently connected with Arlene Pace Green, Ph.D. and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Arlene Pace, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

The resilience I have started with my family legacy. One of my mom’s favorite sayings growing up was, “life is about choices.” I was raised with the belief that we have the power to bounce back and create the life we want through the choices we make; even when starting in very difficult circumstances. And I saw this example firsthand in my family. In the 1930s, my grandparents made a choice to move their family from Creekstand, Alabama, to Tuskegee, Alabama, in a covered wagon. They wanted their children to attend college at what was then Tuskegee Institute, a historically black college initially founded in the 1800s. That single choice transformed the trajectory of our family and taught me so much about the power of choice. Inspired by that legacy, after high school, I attended James Madison University and Old Dominion University in Virginia where I earned a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I then spent 20 years working as an I/O psychologist in various Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies. At one point, I found myself in an executive role that I enjoyed, but I didn’t see a future role that excited me. So, I began exploring what I really wanted to do. That’s when I returned to an idea I had back in grad school — the idea of starting my executive coaching and leadership development business. That’s how Enelra Talent Solutions was born. It’s a full-circle business because, at its core, coaching is about choice. Our coaches partner with leaders to help them make effective choices — choices about mindset, behaviors, and actions to achieve the goals that they care about the most; even when starting in difficult circumstances.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I currently serve as the CEO of Enelra Talent Solutions, LLC . We partner with organizations to provide executive coaching and leadership training workshops to leaders in individual and group settings. My background is in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, which is the study of human behavior at work with a goal of improving workplace environments, enhancing wellbeing, and increasing organizational performance. So, this role and business is a perfect fit for me. I love helping others identify and achieve their most desired outcomes.

We’ve heard from our clients that one of the most significant challenges they’re currently facing in achieving their desired outcomes is doing so in a turbulent and high change environment. In response, our business recently released a free guide for navigating turbulent times in a way that supports individual and team effectiveness and wellbeing. You can access a copy by visiting https://enelratalent.myflodesk.com/navigatingchange .

I also host a podcast called the Work Well, Live Well podcast. The podcast is an extension of the business as it’s where we share ideas, tools, and conversations that fuel individual and business growth. It’s a place to gain practical insights, learn from amazing guests, or just take a breath and reflect while we explore what it means to work well while also creating a meaningful life. The podcast can be found on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

For me, three of the most impactful qualities have been doing great work, building strong relationships, and being a lifelong learner.

One organization where I worked had a saying that has stuck with me – “results get you in the door”. And I’ve found that to be true – great work can open the door for many opportunities. We come to work with a purpose and one component of that is to do and provide great work to others, our clients, and anyone we’re called to serve. But of course, great work isn’t enough by itself. If you can combine great work with strong relationships, an openness to learning, and an environment that supports your success, you have a strong foundation for a great career.

For those earlier in their careers, I would recommend creating a reflective practice. At least once a year, and ideally more often, spend time reflecting on where you are, where you want to be, and how you can get there. As a part of that reflection, ask yourself “how can I grow this year?”. That could be better leveraging a strength, increasing confidence, working on a development need, building relationships, resting more, or learning something completely new. Leaders who make reflection a habit tend to make more intentional choices and achieve more of what really matters to them. And you don’t have to do it alone – a coach, friend, or mentor can be helpful in this process by giving you valuable feedback, ideas, or insights.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! Collaboration is one of the most rewarding parts of the work we do.

We’re always open to partnering with organizations that care deeply about growing their people—whether that’s through executive coaching, leadership development programs, or thoughtfully designed workshops that support both performance and wellbeing.

We also speak on a range of topics—like navigating change, building a meaningful career, and making work a place where people can thrive. If your team or event is looking for fresh, practical insight on leadership and life at work, we’d love to be part of the conversation.

For individuals, we love to collaborate with leaders and executives who are looking for a coaching partner to help them get clear on their goals and achieve their most desired outcomes.

And if you’re an Executive Coach with both corporate experience and deep coaching expertise, we’re always open to growing our team with people who share our commitment to purposeful, high-impact work.

Feel free to reach out any time. We’d love to hear from you.
