We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Alcide a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Because I’m coming from a resilient culture as Lebanese, Moroccan, and French, I’ve learned to carry strength, pride, and adaptability wherever I go. I speak four languages, and since the age of 24, I’ve built — and lost — multiple businesses. Those experiences taught me how to rise, rebuild, and lead with integrity and clarity.
So, being the only one in the room that looks like me has never intimidated me. It has sharpened my voice and deepened my purpose. I’ve learned to let my presence speak before I even open my mouth — through professionalism, elegance, and an unwavering belief in what I bring to others, to the world, and to every space I enter.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I come from a rich and diverse cultural background — Lebanese, Moroccan, and French — and this heritage is deeply rooted in everything I do. It shaped my sense of beauty, resilience, and excellence. With nearly two decades of experience in the beauty industry, I’ve dedicated my life to combining traditional wisdom with modern skincare techniques.
I’m the founder of Secret de Beauté, a luxury facial spa and cosmetics line that reflects my philosophy: beauty is not just about appearance, it’s a ritual — an art of care, presence, and self-love. Our treatments are inspired by ancestral techniques and European savoir-faire, offering clients visible results and a sense of deep wellbeing.
Now, I’m expanding into education — something I feel deeply passionate about. I’m launching an aesthetic school for beauticians, specializing in holistic facial methods such as Kobido, facial sculpting, buccal massage, and more. In Cannes, on the French Riviera, I’m also opening L’École de Beauté, offering comprehensive esthetics training — from facials to advanced skincare — with the mission to give women not only skills but also independence and the confidence to become entrepreneurs.
This new chapter is about empowerment, transmission, and legacy. I want every woman who trains with us to leave not only with a certification but with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Vision and Purpose – I always knew I wanted to create something that made others feel special, empowered, and seen. This vision guided me through challenges and helped me build Secret de Beauté, my facial spa, skincare line, and now L’École de Beauté in Cannes.
Advice: Take time to define your “why.” When your work is rooted in purpose, you won’t get lost in distractions or comparison.
For anyone starting their journey: believe in your value, work with intention, and never stop learning — the rest will follow.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client for the aesthetic school in Miami is every beautician or woman who wants to level up — whether it’s her business, her life, or her practice.
She’s someone who’s passionate about beauty and wellness, eager to deepen her skills, and ready to invest in herself. Whether she’s just starting out or looking to expand her existing business with advanced, holistic techniques like Kobido, buccal massage, or facial sculpting or all beauty services such as lashes, facials , brows – she’s driven, curious, and committed to excellence.
Above all, she wants more than just a certificate — she wants independence, confidence, and the power to create a life she loves through her work.
