Meet Tucker Lenora

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tucker Lenora a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tucker , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I grew up in a rural environment, where education was not a vital priority. I went to 5 schools by 4th grade, and eventually was homeschooled for highschool. Despite murky educational gaps I went on to get a college degree. And recently lectured to a class of Masters Level Students at UNF on how to market and brand oneself in this ever evolving economy. I learned to lean into what I didn’t know, and learn as I went. To be curious instead of fearful, I learned through adversity that I am just as capable as anyone else, and I’m even more determined than some because of my upbringing.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a designer, artist, and comedian.
I constantly put myself in situations where I could sink or swim, and find that jumping in is the hardest part. The rest is just small steps.

My art is inspired by people that are not perceived as “notable.” I love using fine art to feature people seen as less important.

As for my comedy, I am most pleased when both sides of the political spectrum laugh. There is so much fear and division, laughing together can be so healing and thereby ‘community building.’

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Learn from those ahead of you. Stand on the shoulders of others, Acknowledge the value in their wisdom, but sift through and listen to your own inner voice. The goal is not to duplicate others efforts, but tap into your purpose and learn but deviate when necessary.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m passionate about collaboration. I think true magic exists in that moment when you hand the effort over to someone else to also foster. Letting go and letting others contribute leads to amazing things. I’m less interested in what I can do alone and more interested in what I can accomplish WITH others. Not everyone will be on your team, but find those that are, and make like crazy.
