Meet Victoria Pitts

We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Pitts recently and have shared our conversation below.

Victoria , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

The journey to develop confidence has been a long one. From a young age I had alot of criticism from those around me when it came to my appearance and worth. I was constantly ridiculed for being the chunky kid with braces and glasses. I was extremely shy and never felt comfortable speaking out or being noticed. When I would try to be different or express my individuality I was mocked and bullied, and at the time I cared alot about what other people thought of me. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I started to
embrace my shine. I had been in an abusive relationship from high school until about twenty two and it had huge impact on my self esteem. I truly believed I wasn’t worthy of being treated well or loved. Leaving that relationship was the start of my self love journey, I became obsessed with psychology and learning how the brain operates. I began filling my free time with endless self help books, podcasts, and audio books. I started doing everything I could to push myself out of my comfort zone. This included telling myself out loud “I am beautiful” everytime I would look in the mirror. I also do my best to try something that makes me feel a little uncomfortable everyday. The key to being confident is believing you are a confident person, retraining your brain to be who you want to be.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My biggest passion in life is helping people, I have been blessed with a career that does just that. I am a life and health coach that works out of SanDiego, California. What I focus on mostly with my clients is creating a meaningful, happy life that is built on feeling good in your body. I help change people’s mindsets and create lasting change rather than a “get fit quick” approach. Change takes time and alot of people lack the support and encouragement it takes to make big changes. I am currently taking on new clients who are looking to create a better life for themselves. The easiest way to book a consultation with me is through email at [email protected]
I’m looking forward to changing lives and getting the pleasure to see how much growth we can make together.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most impactful lessons in my journey include understanding mental health, communication, and listening. For those looking to improve those skills I highly recommend seeking out therapy as a start. Therapy can get expensive but a tool I have found equally if not more useful are support groups. One that I accredit for alot of my success is DBSA (depression bipolar support alliance). There and hundreds of support groups that are absolutely free, I think everyone should take advantage of these types of organizations. Books and YouTube videos can also be great resources to learn how to better communicate and listen. With these skills developed you can not only create stronger healthier relationships with your loved ones but also better understand yourself.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The person who has made me the woman I am today is my grandmother, Kay Cole, I call her Nonny. She is one of the strongest and kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She has supported me endlessly throughout every challenge in my life. My love for making a difference in people’s lives was inspired from her long work in social work and dedication to helping people. She has show me wisdom in all of my darkest times and shown me all can be overcome with love, compassion, and empathy. She has encouraged every risk I have ever taken, celebrated my successes and never undermined me when I fail. She helped me understand that every failure is an opportunity to learn, grow, come out stronger and better than before. She is an incredible woman and if everyone had someone like her in their lives I believe everyone could achieve their wildest dreams.
