Meet Jayson “Lefty” David-Vattoly

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jayson “Lefty” David-Vattoly. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jayson “Lefty”, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I guess to me it was over time seeing improvements in different aspects of my life, work, art, relationship, mental and physical health. Seeing improvements in all of that is an happy moment for me, and I’m sure anyone else, which in turn improves my confidence and self-esteem I’d say

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Well I’ve been tattooing for 10 years now. I’ve mentioned that in our last interview. During the later part of those years I have delved into other mediums of art such as making rugs, designing and making clothing focusing mainly on shoes, both have seen success as a business until I stopped. Since then, all while still tattooing, I’ve worked alongside musicians helping design merch and musical cover arts. Still taking photos with a gameboy camera, even had some of the photos showcased in a gameboy camera museum. On the side I have been focusing on an indie video game I have been working on for quite a bit now. I don’t wanna speak much on that for now until I have more of that project done

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Being a people person has been the best quality I have picked up through my years of tattooing. It has helped build connections with both friends and clients. Building good and healthy relationships I’ve learned is important in life and I can’t stress this enough to anyone reading this on how important that is.

If I were to pick 2 other skill/qualities I’d say being able to adapt and the other, well, I can’t really think of another right now

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am always looking for partners to collaborate with. Making art with others is a wonderful time. Collabs on music, clothing, well just art in general I suppose. I’m always open
