We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dee Bomb. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dee below.
Hi Dee, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
It really happened in middle school. I’m the type that if I put my mind to it, I’ll do it myself and no one is going to stop me except me.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
For starters, my name is Dimitrius “Dee Bomb” Stephens and I’m a rapper from the Twin Cities (MN) as well as a DJ, Producer, Engineer, & Entrepreneur. As an artist, I’ve performed everywhere from local shows to touring the country and even headlined at Mall of America (MOA). I’ve toured and opened up for the greats like Bone Thugs & Harmony, Redman, & many more within the last 11 years.
As a DJ, I’m normally working weddings but sometimes I’ll step and do things like DJ for a Kutt Calhoun show. I work as an audio engineer for events such as WWE & MMA, if I’m not doing audio work for others then I record my own music whether I produced the record or not.
Now as for entrepreneurship, I am the owner of an entertainment company called, “Bangin Noize Entertainment” which focus on releasing music and producing music events. My company’s sold thousands between merch, tickets, and records.
I love anything related to music so working in entertainment was the best decision I ever made. I released my debut album, “Beautiful & Harsh Poetry” in 2014 to the point I work with 4 different companies such as Livenation, Bangin Noize, and more. It was always my dream to be a rapper and expand in the industry the best I can…..4 studio albums, a label, and 9 tours later and I have no reason to slow down or stop, the supporters rock with me so I keep going for them and myself. Me when I’m creating the record but Them when I release the record.
As of right now, I’m about to drop my fifth studio album, “Long Game Energy” this year and I’ll be touring soon promoting the album.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
If I can name three things then I would start off by saying show persistence. In this game, you have to know for sure what you want and don’t stop until you get it then you keep going but always keep your eye on the ball otherwise you are wasting your time.
The second quality I would mention would be having the ability to do research. A lot of times artists sign up to things without reading terms and guidelines so that way you can protect yourself. Know what you’re getting yourself into because that can protect your career and even your peace.
The third quality or skill I would mention would be to have patience. Although I said that artist should be persistent, you also have to understand that this is not an overnight thing so it will take time to perfect your craft and meet the right people to start putting you in spots you actually want to be at when it comes to your career.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The only challenge that I face everyday is learning how to be better and peaceful with everything I do in my life. That’s something I can’t say you can really overcome because we try to get better everyday while we are here on this planet. You also can’t dwell on the past so long or it’ll be harder for you to get better.
