We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sharon Eitany. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sharon below.
Sharon, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
To me, it was always there. Growing up, I loved watching movies and TV shows — but not like any other kid. There was something so special to me about it. I knew I wanted to be part of that world. I found my dream at a very young age and followed it. Now that I’ve reached many milestones as an actress, I know that the child in me is happy.
In our profession, you often hear sayings trying to keep you “realistic”, like: “Oh, that’s a hard job. Maybe you should consider another path”. But those usually come from those who didn’t follow their dreams, who ignored their inner child or gave up because of fear or pressure from society.
I found my purpose by listening to that inner child, and also thanks to my family, who always supported me in doing what I love. My mom always told me: “It’s better to regret something you did, than something you didn’t do”. That simple truth has guided me to take chances, follow my heart, and live without fear.
Today, my purpose goes even deeper. It’s not just about being an actress. It’s about making others feel through my art and my heart. It’s about uniting people through stories that make them laugh, cry, love, and connect.
Doing what I love means the world to me. I’m proud to be someone who followed her heart and her dream – and I hope my story will inspire others to do the same.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m an actress, and I’ve had the honor of participating in different productions across the world. I chose theater and cinema as my majors in high school and later continued studying acting in my homeland, Israel.
My dream has always been to come to Hollywood, so I decided to aim high and apply for a scholarship to the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute – a school that has always been a dream for me. I was honored to receive the Eleonora Duse Scholarship, a full one-year scholarship awarded to only one passionate actor from around the world. And that’s how my Hollywood journey began.
After my first year, the school chose to award me another full-year scholarship. Today, I’m proud to be an alumna of the two-year conservatory program at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles. It was truly one of the best experiences of my life. Studying Method Acting shaped me deeply, and its principles will stay with me forever. I’ll always be grateful for that opportunity.
After my studies, I worked in Hollywood in various short films, commercials, and TV projects. Now, I continue to work as an actress in Israel with the vision of continuing to grow and act internationally.
The most exciting thing for me in acting is coming up with new ideas that make the audience feel and react. You receive a script, take it into your heart and into your mind, and you put your soul out there, for the people to resonate with. The art of acting is very abstract to me. Although it includes analyzing and some logical aspects, when I’m on stage or on set, it’s my heart that speaks and my soul who feels. The eyes are the window to the soul, and if you know how to open that window to the audience, you will become unstoppable. And that’s for me, I believe, one of my strongest attributes. The eyes, Chico… they never lie.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say there are many things that have impacted and shaped my journey.
First – taking care of yourself.
Create the most beautiful garden for yourself. Move your body, do what you love, enjoy life, follow your passions. Work out, eat well, nourish your soul. Meditate, read, watch movies, walk on the beach, love deeply.
When your ground is strong and abundant, things begin to flourish. No matter what path you choose – whether you want to be an actor, musician, doctor, pilot, or anything else – nourishing yourself is what allows everything else to bloom.
Also, remember that life is a journey. When you feel down, it’s okay to hug those feelings and let yourself go through them. There’s no movie or book without challenges and obstacles. Every experience becomes a chapter in your story – one that helps you learn, grow, and evolve.
Second – kindness.
Smile at the world, and the world will smile back. In my years as an actress, I’ve learned that people love to work with people they enjoy being around. But kindness is not only for the industry. It’s a way of life.
Be kind to nature, to animals, to others – and to yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself or on anyone else. We’re all experiencing life on this planet for the first time. 😊
Third – your inner child.
Your inner child knows best. That child dreamed freely, without limits or fears, untouched by the world’s expectations. And you shouldn’t be either.
You can reconnect to your inner child through meditation, self-connection, and self-love. When you listen to that voice inside you – I believe that’s when true fulfillment begins.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As an actress, there’s nothing I love more than bringing scripts and characters to life.
I’m always open to collaborating and connecting with passionate creative minds who love the magic of cinema as much as I do.
If you’re a director, writer, or creator with a script in hand and feel we could be a great match to bring your vision to life — I’d love to hear from you.
