Sama , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by constantly learning and collaborating. I take online classes to stay inspired and up to date with new trends. I also love working with my business partner — we regularly brainstorm and bounce ideas off each other. That teamwork always sparks fresh, creative energy.

My name is Sama Jamhour, and I’m a modern florist and the founder of Blooming Box Shop a floral studio in Chesterfield, Missouri. What started as a passion for making flower arrangements for friends and family has grown into a business that blends art, emotion, and design. I come from a background in nursing, but I always felt deeply connected to nature and beauty. I grew up in a village filled with gardens, grape vines, and olive trees a place where my mother lovingly tended flowers every day. That peaceful, fragrant environment shaped the way I see flowers: not just as decorations, but as expressions of love, memory, and personality.
At Blooming Box Shop, we specialize in both fresh and preserved flower arrangements. We’re actually the only shop in Saint Louis that offers a full line of preserved roses — real roses that last a year or more. I love combining modern floral design with long-lasting blooms that can be gifted and cherished for months. Whether it’s a custom bouquet, a flower box, or a unique arrangement in a modern vase, I always strive to make every piece feel intentional and personal.
One of the most exciting parts of my work is the opportunity to connect with others — through workshops, pop-up events, and community collaborations. We recently launched our “make your own bouquet” events, which give people a chance to play with flowers and express themselves creatively. I’ve also hosted floral sessions at elderly homes and partnered with other local businesses, because I believe flowers can uplift and connect people in ways that feel genuine and joyful.
Right now, I’m focused on growing the creative side of my brand — not just as a florist, but as an artist. I’m working on a new immersive project for women called “The House of the Unconscious”, inspired by deep psychology and emotional exploration through art and floral design. It’s still in development, but it represents my heart as both a creator and a woman — offering a space for reflection, healing, and beauty.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about my work, it’s that I create with intention. Every petal, every box, every bloom — it’s made to tell a story.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been creativity, resilience, and a willingness to learn.
• Creativity helps me tell stories through flowers and stay inspired.
• Resilience keeps me going through challenges and slow seasons.
• Willingness to learn allowed me to grow my business without a formal background — I’m always taking classes and learning from others.
My advice: Stay curious, keep showing up, and always remember why you started. Passion will carry you through.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My biggest support has been my business partner and sister-in-law, Nuha. We share a deep passion for flowers and design, and she’s someone I can always brainstorm with, lean on during tough times, and celebrate wins with. Working with someone who understands your vision and challenges you creatively makes all the difference. She’s helped me grow not only as a florist, but as a business owner and artist.
