We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Debbi Dachinger. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Debbi below.
Hi Debbi, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Confidence means a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities. It’s a quiet inner knowledge that you’re capable. Some of my abilities or sense of being confident came from an inner knowing that ”I got this, I can handle this.” I was somebody who performed on stage singing and acting a majority of my life. My confidence came from the joy of being on stage as well as the knowing that I would get there. By “get there” I mean I would find my way from the start of receiving a script and role to flushing out the entire character, and finally learning all the movements on stage, my lines memorized, and if it was a musical – my songs and potential harmonies intact. I just knew I could do it. Part of building of that confidence was doing it over and over again successfully, so I knew “I got this.”
Another way that my confidence is manifested is even if I am unsure of my abilities, I do it anyway. That has been one of my greatest life lessons. That I am way more talented and limitless than I sometimes give myself credit for. I can look at an opportunity and feel nervous or think, “I can’t do this. It’s too much, what if I fall flat?” And yet I know on my path there are certain markers of what I really want to experience in my life. Especially when I see other people do these things successfully. For instance, I used to witness people MC events, and they would also moderate panels of discussion with experts and many people in the audience. I would look at them and think, “Why them? Why not me?” I really wanted that visibility and experience. I had no idea if I the chops to do it. However, I manifested being an MC and moderator coming to me in a big way. Imagine the first time I’m getting ready to be the MC of an event and also moderating live panels with experts in front of hundreds of people. I didn’t know beforehand if I could and I wasn’t fully confident. However, I wanted it and my desire, my passion, my drive, got me there. After I MC’d and moderated once at an event, the actual doing of it, not just thinking and wondering if I could do it – I knew “I got this, I’m good at this.” So, every event thereafter, my confidence continued to build.
One other thing I think is important is if I’m not confident I hire. When I was upping my visibility in the world, I had booked events to speak at on stage with other notable presenters, so I wanted to be good, I wanted to feel comfortable and at ease. But I didn’t have that level of skills. So, I hired a coach who showed me the exact steps of putting together an excellent presentation along with how to make a great PowerPoint. Thank God! My investment paid off. Because I was proud of how I did after the coaching, and for years thereafter I knew how to give a great presentation at an event.
Confidence sometimes comes from within organically. But also, confidence is something we find once we step forward into our desire, either by hiring a coach who can show us the way and help us in our blind spots, or by saying yes, showing up, doing it, and proving to ourselves how good we really are. We learn along the way on either path and can profoundly increase our confidence.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m an award-winning podcaster. I started on terrestrial radio 18 years and parlayed my show “Dare to Dream, with Debbi Dachinger” into podcasts. You can find my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/debbidachinger and the show is available on all major podcast platforms. Additionally, I run healing groups for people who want to change their life and their experience, by offering profound energy work. I do shamanic energy healing programs and private sessions. Currently, I’m doing these online once a month shamanic healing groups on Zoom so people can join from anywhere in the world. For anyone who would like to sign up, the healing sessions are completely different every month, go here: https://www.galactic-shaman.com/monthly-program
These are done on Zoom in a group setting and they include replays.
Next year, March 2026. I’m speaking aboard a ship. It’s on the celebrity cruise line. We did a spiritual cruise last year to the Yucatán and it was a phenomenal success. So, when the event producers asked me back to speak on the 2026 Mystery School cruise, I was excited because we are cruising to Greece and Turkey! Two countries I have wanted to visit. It is going to include presentations on board the cruise with some of the greatest speakers for spirituality, mystery schools, ancient civilizations, galactic information, and more. We will be going on tours with mystery school experts to powerful sites in Greece and Turkey. People are booking their cabins right now. If you are interested, go to https://mysteryschoolatsea.com/. When you fill out the form you leave a deposit to reserve your cabin. If you travel with a friend, there’s a special rate. On the form they ask you to click on a speaker’s name to indicate who referred you. Please click on my name: Debbi Dachinger.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One quality is the power of curiosity. Curiosity alone has changed my life. Curiosity is what drives my podcast and my interviews and questions with guests. Curiosity is what has allowed me to completely change my life. Curiosity is foundational for me as a journalist and as a shamanic healer. It creates continuous learning and interest. Being curious about other people creates a good conversationalist and listener.
The next quality is communication. This is how we have good relationships in business and also personally. Without communication we’re not being honest and truthful with ourselves. Communication means developing loving relationships, making long-term friends, family members, and solid romantic partnerships. Having good communication skills always sets us apart from others. Communication can be done through humor, through skills we’ve learned, or through vulnerability.
The final quality is adaptability. To me, adaptability is resilience. To never be stuck on one thing one way. I am often in reflection that I don’t know best because something else will show up and it is way better than what I had imagined or desired. Adaptability is about being flexible, being in the flow, allowing what is and not resisting what is. It is much less painful, less stressful, and way more joyful to be adaptable. I am not talking about giving up or not having a plan or big dreams, all of those are brilliant and important. However, when we are adaptable, it gives us the capacity to respond effectively to changing circumstances. Being adaptable is a highly valued skill as it allows us to thrive in unpredictable situations. Rather than breaking, we become more like elastic. We face problems, we pivot amongst distractions, and find a way to proceed forward while still thinking ahead.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
What’s special?
Although I was always spiritual, becoming a certified shamanic practitioner and doing this level of healing work is a wonderful surprise. I was helping people write books and also doing publicity work getting clients booked on podcasts. Six years ago, I had a profound awakening, quite unexpected, and wonderful. It was confusing at the time because I was being given information about myself that I had no context for. However, because I am a journalist and an aggregator, I started enrolling in programs to learn more, for edification. I am grateful I did because today there is zero confusion and I have complete understanding that I’m in exactly the right place doing the right thing, as a shamanic healer.
Do you go in on your strengths or invest in areas where you aren’t into strong?
Both! We all have deficits and places where we’re not experts. For instance, I have a team that runs the backend of my YouTube channel. I am not designed to do marketing, so I hire. Or much like the story above when I was not sure how to create a presentation or powerful PowerPoint, I hired a great coach, and she showed me how and now I have the ability to replicate this for any event. There are experts out there who can help us be on the right path and succeed. It is always important to seek mentors and role models who embody the desired characteristics that we would like to exhibit.
At the same time, it’s so important to go all in on your strengths because that’s where we shine naturally. Zero effort.
One example is, I dreamt of doing a marathon. That’s 26.2 miles. I barely walked 2 miles at the time! I had no idea how I was going to get from the beginning to the finish line of a marathon successfully. My strength in this situation was my desire, coupled with massive drive and determination. Those were important and helpful, but they were not going to get me to the finish line. I also needed to invest where I was not strong yet. I found out through my city’s marathon office that there was training which began eight months in advance of the marathon. I signed up, and I began to train with the professionals who led our group, and it was free. That training was everything. The trainers gave me what I did not naturally have – how would I know how to do a marathon or how to train for one? This is a good example of a strength and investment combination complementing each other. I had the drive and the passion to do it, and then brought into my life an organization I trusted implicitly, who knew what they were doing – that was the other percentage. Using both natural inner strengths and investing where I was not strong, I completed my first 26.2 marathon and I was elated!
I decided to go back and do another marathon the second year and because I prefer to have a new goal I wanted to remove minutes off of my finish time, get to the finish line earlier than the year before. I decided to take 30 minutes off of my finish time which for a marathon is a huge accomplishment. I was committed to that vision (strength). Two weeks before the second marathon I visualized myself getting to the finish line, seeing the final clock and visualizing the time exactly as I wanted, then going through the finish line full of joy. When it came to the actual marathon and I was rounding the final corner, I turned to face the finish line with many yards to go but close enough that I could see the clock and I looked up right before I crossed over the finish line and saw I had taken 60 minutes off of my finish time – not 30 minutes. I had doubled my goal and visualization. One full hour! It exceeded my wildest dreams.
We are all so much more capable than we give ourselves credit for. We only need to do it to learn how truly possible things are for us.
