We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lawain Howell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lawain below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Lawain with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from simply never wanting to produce anything short of excellence. For me, it’s not just about completing a task — it’s about taking pride in every detail, no matter how small. I believe that the quality of my work reflects who I am, so I approach each project with a mindset of responsibility, care, and continuous improvement. That drive comes from a deep-rooted desire to contribute something meaningful, to stand behind what I create, and to always leave things better than I found them.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a Business Executive, professional Internet personality, model &, influencer (soccer, lifestyle & fashion) sponsored by a number of brands. Im a private skills coach, personal stylsit, social media manager aiding personalities, athletes & celebs with niche specific growth, overall retention, outreach, branding deals, and what have you) stock trader, soon to be a fully licensed. I know athletes are BIG on investing as well and have a lot of valuable insight. (My current profession is a sponsored semi professional athlete & Internet personality) I’m actively trying to get into the professional game full time as well. I’d have to say I’m most excited about getting back on the pitch as well as obtaining my official trading license.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would have to say my 3 best areas of expertise are in soccer, finance and fashion. My advice for those early in their process would be 6 crucial things.
1. Be Reliable Before You’re Brilliant
Your consistency, punctuality, and ability to follow through will be noticed far more — and earlier — than flashes of brilliance. Build trust by being dependable.
2. Say “Yes” — But Know When to Say “No”
Early on, it’s smart to say “yes” to opportunities that stretch you, even if you’re unsure. But learn to recognize when something compromises your values, health, or long-term goals. Boundaries are part of professionalism.
3. Ask Questions, Then Ask Better Ones
Never pretend to know something you don’t. Ask with humility and curiosity — it shows you’re invested. As you grow, your questions should evolve too.
4. Don’t Chase Titles — Chase Skills
Titles change. Skills compound. Focus on learning how to think, how to solve problems, and how to collaborate. That’s the real currency.
5. Build a Reputation, Not Just a Resume
People remember how you made them feel, how you handled pressure, and whether you owned your mistakes. That’s what makes you memorable and respected.
6. Stay Humble, Stay Hungry
You’re never too junior to have good ideas — or too senior to learn something new. Stay curious, keep improving, and don’t let early success breed complacency.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always open to collaborating with other like-minded individuals — there’s real value in learning from different perspectives and building something together. That said, my top priority when it comes to partnerships is connecting with people who share my core interests: modeling, soccer, and finance. Whether it’s a creative shoot, a sports-related project, or a conversation around investing and wealth-building, I gravitate toward collaborations that align with these passions and push me to grow both personally and professionally.
