Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paulette Morales. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Paulette, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by doing things that make me feel inspired and connected — things that light me up from the inside. This also means staying true to who I am. I try to reconnect with the things that shaped me, the things I love, and the little moments that make me feel like myself. When I stay close to that, I naturally feel more inspired.
There are definitely days when ideas come easier than others, and I’ve learned not to force it. I let those quiet days be what they are — and when inspiration hits, I try to really lean into it and create.
Because of my work as a digital marketer and content creator, I spend a lot of time online. It can get overwhelming with everything happening all the time — new trends, constant content, and ideas from so many people. It’s easy to feel overstimulated. That’s why disconnecting is important too. When things feel too loud, I take a step back so I can tune back into my own voice and what feels true to me. That always helps me return to my creativity with more clarity.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m focused on all things digital marketing — from strategy and social media management to content creation. I genuinely love the world of social media. It’s wild to me how powerful it can be — the way content and strategy work together to connect with people, build communities, and drive real results for brands.
Right now, I’m especially focused on UGC (user-generated content), creating content that’s engaging, aligned with a brand’s voice, and designed to help them reach their goals. Whether that means boosting sales, increasing brand awareness, or creating content that grabs attention — I enjoy helping brands show up in a way that reflects their style and values.
Alongside UGC, I also offer social media management and content creation for local businesses in both San Diego and Tijuana. I’m really passionate about supporting brands — big or small — in building a digital presence that actually resonates.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Passion
I believe loving what you do makes all the difference — whether it’s creating content or managing social media. When I feel aligned with a brand’s mission, values, or aesthetic, that passion naturally shows in my work. Believing in the brands and businesses I work with allows me to create more meaningful and high-quality content that truly reflects that connection.
2. Self-Trust
Working in the digital space comes with comparison, uncertainty, and moments where it’s easy to doubt your progress. But trusting myself — my abilities, creativity, and unique voice — has been crucial. I’ve had to believe in the process, even when results didn’t show up right away. That trust has helped me stay focused, especially when things feel overwhelming.
3. Consistency
I strongly believe consistency is everything. In so many areas of my life — business, personal growth and daily routines — I’ve seen how consistently showing up, even during hard or uncertain times, makes all the difference. It’s how I’ve built progress and kept moving forward. The results might not come overnight, but the discipline to keep going has always paid off in the long run.
My biggest advice for anyone just starting out is to remind yourself often why you started. It’s easy to fall into comparison or feel stuck when progress is slow — but coming back to your “why” helps you stay focused. If you stay excited about what you’re building, trust your path, and keep showing up, growth will come.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
One of my biggest challenges right now is balancing the many responsibilities that come with running a creative business — from creating content for brands, pitching, and answering emails to staying consistent with my personal brand, engaging with other creators, and sharing tips or behind-the-scenes moments. There’s always something I could be doing, and even with a plan, I often feel pulled in different directions.
As a content creator, there’s constant pressure to keep up with the algorithm and always be posting. When you’re creating for both yourself and brands, it’s easy to lose that creative spark. Navigating that pressure while trying to stay inspired and on top of everything can be exhausting.
Sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s truly important and what’s just keeping me busy. Lately, I’ve been focusing on routines that help me prioritize what really matters and stay more intentional with my time. I’ve also had to learn that it’s okay to take things one step at a time. I can do a lot — just not everything all at once, in life or in business.
