We recently connected with Devin Noir and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Devin, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.

I love this question. Whenever I come across any type of block, I’ll talk myself through it first. After that, I change up my routine. Creativity is tied to experience. Experiences lead to inspiration. Sometimes, just approaching aspects of my life in a different way will lead me to inspiration. The mind is a powerful muscle. Provide the right inspiration, and the muscle gets stronger.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

To start, I’d like to provide a simple answer. I’m a Brooklyn, NY-based tattoo artist, tarot reader, and astrologer. With my career, I hope to empower others to reach a place of authenticity that can stay with them for a lifetime. Currently, I’m working on a curriculum for a tattoo training program of my own design.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The first thing I’ll talk about is this curiosity about the things left unseen. I have a deep fascination with spirituality and as well as magic that has been there for as long as I remember. Secondly, I’m a proudly adopted person. I grew up wondering where I came from and who I could become. From that, I have developed a deep sense of self-awareness. Lastly, in my opinion, my best trait is my drive. I’m willing to do whatever I can to make my dreams happen, no matter what obstacles are in my way. The best advice I can give someone is to learn to celebrate the little wins. The beginning can feel like a slow and long journey, but it’s the best time to develop confidence and persistence.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

This is a hard question for me to answer. I’ve had many teachers in my life. Failure has been a powerful teacher for me. I’ve also been lucky with my two mentors and guidance from family and friends.
