We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Liz Rodgers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Liz below.
Liz, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
It’s an ongoing process really. I constantly overcome the fear of how I’m being perceived by reveling in the amazing feeling that comes when I pursue the things that make me feel like my most authentic self.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I love storytelling. Whether that’s on a set, at an open mic, canvassing in the streets or in a writer’s room I’ve got to express and connect!
When I was a kid I didn’t talk much. Even though I was essential nonverbal I was always carrying a notebook with me. In my little notebooks I’d create worlds and map out plans for the future.
Also, I’m performing in a show titled Rhinoceros in Atlanta this summer. Come support and when you see me say hi!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I’d say always reading, writing and remaining curious about the world around me have really impacted my human experience as an artist.
My advice to any person is to remain open. Growth comes from realizing there’s always more knowledge to gain!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
If you’re a writer, director or creator of any sort I’m always looking to collaborate,
If you’re looking to connect feel free to send me a dm or an email. I love creating with other folks in different mediums so just reach out.
