Meet Stormy Caldwell

We recently connected with Stormy Caldwell and have shared our conversation below.

Stormy , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

I credit much of the generosity I extend to others to my parents –

I grew up on an organic farm called Comanche Oaks in La Grange, Texas with salt of the earth parents who took pride in being hard-working individuals. Farm life is often less than luxurious, and I look back on times when financially, we barely had enough to get by. Although my parents had their fair share of adversity, they never stopped being kind, incredibly generous people. As a young girl, I remember my father taking in homeless people and giving them a job at our family farm so they’d have shelter, food and the ability to get back on their feet – this inspired me as a young adult to start a non-profit that assisted homeless in having proper clothing during winter months.

My Father and Mother taught my siblings and I to always make others feel “seen” and to extend kindness to those who might need it most – Acts of generosity both my parents have shown others over the years, compel me to this day to help make this world a better place.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Thank you for the opportunity to share. I’m deeply passionate about helping others become the best versions of themselves through Health & Wellness, which ultimately led me on this beautiful journey of becoming a Nurse, Advanced Manual Lymphatic Drainage Specialist and now Business owner. The company I founded is Texas Lymphatic Clinic, a mobile service dedicated to serving those in need of Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Medical Grade Red-Light therapy. I work with doctors in Texas by assisting their patients after surgery with proper MLD techniques; a gentle, non-invasive therapy that mimics a pumping action promoting movement where there’s stagnant lymph; reducing swelling, pain and bruising post-surgery, allowing patients to feel their best at an expedited rate. I also see clients who desire MLD for general lymphatic detox, as it acts as an immune boost for the body, helping rid the lymphatic system of toxins and excess fluid. Our lymphatic system relies on my hydration and muscle contraction to move, making it susceptible to stagnation as it doesn’t have a “pump” of its own. Stagnant lymph is a breeding ground for illness – tending to this system regularly, improves our overall health and wellbeing.

What’s most exciting about my job is the transformations and incredible recovery stories I’m honored to take part in. I reflect on my career and the lives I’ve become connected to and it brings much gratitude – I’ve worked with clients who’ve lost as much as 20+ pounds of excess fluid through safe and consistent MLD treatment, I’ve rejoiced with former cancer patients who’ve overcame their battle, I’ve discreetly worked on A list celebrities that deserve the same privacy as everyone else. The list goes on; the fulfillment I get through my work is immeasurable. I’m immensely blessed to have earned the trust of others through my standards of care.

I have really exciting things in the works but can’t say too much at the moment. Stay tuned for updates and big launches coming your way – You won’t want to miss them!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the areas of knowledge which have helped me grow the most has been phenomenal mentorship, working alongside experts within my field, and working with cases from various surgical/health backgrounds.

My advice to those starting their journey would be to find incredibly knowledgeable mentors, people you admire that are exceedingly better than you at your trade – Soak in knowledge from them, ask lots of questions, and don’t give up on days when you feel inferior to their expertise. You’ll be at their level and beyond if you keep pushing through the tough days. I look back on the moment I first laid hands on an official client; I was eager to do the job perfectly as my former mentor watched my every move, and my client looked forward to a delightful general detox session. Then, the worst thing happened – In nursing terms I “vagaled down”, in layman’s terms I passed out! Talk about feeling embarrassed and defeated. I thought surely my mentor was going to tell me find another career, to my surprise she said, “Brush it off, you’re going to be incredible at this because the energy and care you put into healing others.” My perspective shifted instantly, I will never forgot that moment. I can’t emphasize enough how the right mentor helps build a solid foundation which generates growth – I credit all this, along with sheer determination and the good Lord to the successful brand I’m building today.
